SUPER SIMPLE SWEET POTATO DOG TREATS
I prefer to make my dogs their own treats so I know exactly what is in them. My dogs go crazy for these simple sweet potato treats.

- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Prick sweet potato several times with a fork.
- Heat sweet potato in a microwave on high until tender, about 6 minutes. Cut potato in half and scoop flesh out of the skin into a bowl; discard skin. Mash potato with a fork or potato masher and transfer about 1 cup to a large bowl. Save any remaining sweet potato for another use.
- Mix whole wheat flour, applesauce, and eggs in the large bowl with the sweet potato until a dough forms. Turn dough out on a well-floured surface and roll dough to about 1/2-inch thick. Cut out shapes using a cookie cutter or cut dough into strips with a pizza cutter. Arrange cookies on an ungreased baking sheet.
- Bake until crisp, 35 to 45 minutes. Cool in the pans for 10 minutes before removing to cool completely on a wire rack.

- Preheat oven to 450 degrees F (230 degrees C). Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil.
- Stir together olive oil, maple syrup, and cayenne pepper in a small bowl. Brush the sweet potato slices with the maple mixture and place onto the prepared baking sheet. Sprinkle with salt and pepper to taste.
- Bake in preheated oven for 8 minutes, then turn the potato slices over, brush with any remaining maple mixture, and continue baking until tender in the middle, and crispy on the edges, about 7 minutes more.

These nutrient packed energy balls are the perfect healthy pick me up snack to enjoy before a workout or with some fruit as a dessert.

- Combine the oats, dates, ground flax seed, turmeric, ginger, pepitas, chia seeds and cashews in a food processor and pulse several times to crush the nuts.
- Add the seed butter, sweet potato, banana, cinnamon and maple syrup and pulse the mixture to combine the ingredients well.
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Form the dough into 1 inch sized balls and place on the baking sheet.
- Put the dark chocolate in a microwave safe bowl with the coconut oil and heat for about 1 minute. Place the melted chocolate in an icing bag and drizzle over the top of the oat energy balls.
- Place the balls in the fridge for 30-45 min to firm up.
- Remove from the baking sheet and store in an air tight container in the fridge.

- Boil the sweet potatoes in hot boiling water for 15 minutes, or until the inside is cooked through. Peel the skin off and discard. Smash the sweet potatoes.
- Add the mashed sweet potatoes with flour, sugar, and water to form a dough that is not sticky to the hands.
- Divide the dough into small, equal portions and roll them into balls. Roll the sweet potato balls with sesame seeds.
- Heat up a shallow pot with 2-3 inches oil. When the oil is fully heated, deep fry the sweet potato balls until golden brown. Dish out and drain well on paper towels. Dust with powdered sugar before serving.

- 1. Heat oven to 375^ and line a cookie sheet with foil or parchment paper heavily sprayed or greased. Set aside.
- 2. In a large bowl, beat egg and vanilla and place potato sticks into the egg mixture and toss to coat evenly. In another bowl, combine all the remaining ingredients. Place a small amount of wet potato sticks into the mixture and dredge evenly.
- 3. Place potato sticks on prepared pan and bake for 30 minutes, then turn over with pancake turner. Bake for another 10- 20 minutes. Remove from oven and remove to serving platter with a spatula. Eat immediately, with or without a dusting of powdered sugar.
- 4. Note: Instead of using fresh sweet potatoes. I used frozen and they worked great. Follow heating directions on bag for temperature-all other direction are the same. Use frozen stick type or waffle type I liked the waffle type best. Making sure to make enough mixture to accommodate the amount of potato pieces you are using. Next time I will coat them more.

- In a large bowl, mix sweet potato puree, almond butter, and maple syrup. Add remaining ingredients except for the chocolate chips. Mix until well combined. Stir in half of the chocoate chips then spread the batter evenly in your prepared pan.
- Sprinkle the remaining chocolate chips over the top. Tap your baking pan on the counter a few times to help create an even layer. Bake until set and lightly golden brown around the edges, 18 to 20 minutes. Cool completely then cut into 8 (or more) bars.
- Store, covered, an room temperature for up to 2 days then refrigerate for a week. Freeze bars, individally wrapped, for up to 2 months.
