I double the recipe and put in a glass baking dish (9x13 inches). Nice for holidays . . . Keep it for a secret and family and friends will think you worked forever on it . . . (smiles). You can also use peanut butter chips and make peanut butter fudge.

3 cups semisweet chocolate chips
1 (14 ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
¼ cup butter
1 cup chopped walnuts

Steps:

  • Place chocolate chips, sweetened condensed milk, and butter or margarine in large microwaveable bowl. Zap in microwave on medium until chips are melted, about 3-5 minute, stirring once or twice during cooking. Stir in nuts, if desired.
  • Pour into well-greased 8x8-inch glass baking dish. Refrigerate until set.

A deliciously tempting, easy dark chocolate fudge recipe that can easily be made into truffles as well. Be sure to use SWEETENED CONDENSED MILK ONLY or this recipe will not set up. This is a recipe that was tested in a test kitchen before being published by Good Housekeeping magazine. I have been using it since 1990 without fail.

1 (12 ounce) package semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 (14 ounce) can sweetened condensed milk

Steps:

  • Place both ingredients in a microwave safe 8" x 8" dish.
  • Microwave on high for 2 to 3 minutes.
  • Remove (with oven mitts, please) and stir to combine.
  • Place in the refrigerator for 2 hours to set.
  • Fudge can be removed from refrigerator and stored at room temperature after it has set.
  • Once at room temperature you can melon scoop it, roll it in powdered cocoa and chopped nuts, and serve as truffles.

This homemade chocolate fudge recipe is fun and easy. You can customize it in so many ways with your favorite nuts, dried fruits, or candy.

3 cups semisweet chocolate chips
14 ounces sweetened condensed milk
1 tablespoons butter
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
1/8 teaspoon salt

Steps:

  • Gather the ingredients.
  • Line a 9-inch square baking pan or dish with plastic wrap.
  • Combine the chocolate chips and condensed milk in a saucepan over medium-low heat. Stir until the chocolate has melted .
  • Remove from heat. Add the butter, vanilla, and salt. Stir until the mixture is smooth.
  • Pour the fudge into the prepared dish, spreading evenly and smoothing the surface with a spatula.
  • Refrigerate until firm, at least one hour.
  • Turn out of the pan, remove the plastic, and cut into squares.

1 2/3 cups granulated sugar
1/2 cup butter or 1/2 cup margarine
2 squares BAKER'S Semi-Sweet Chocolate, chopped in pieces
2 tablespoons water
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla
2 large eggs
1 1/3 cups all-purpose flour
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup nuts, chopped

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350°F Grease 9x13-inch baking pan.
  • Microwave sugar, butter and water in large microwave-safe bowl on high (100%) power for 4-5 minutes or until mixture bubbles. Remove from heat. Add baking squares; stir until melted.
  • Add in eggs, one at a time until blended. Stir in vanilla. Add flour, baking soda and salt; stir well. Stir in nuts. Pour into prepared baking pan.
  • Bake 15-20 minutes or until a wooden pick inserted near center comes out slightly sticky. Cool in pan on wire rack.
  • FOR SAUCEPAN METHOD: Heat sugar, butter and water in medium heavy-duty saucepan stirring constantly just to boiling. Remove from heat. Add baking squares; stir until melted. Proceed as above.
