Refreshing Blueberry Soda image

Summer favorite that can easily be translated into freezer pops. Fresh mint leaves could also be used instead of basil.

1 cup water
1 cup white sugar
2 cups fresh basil
2 cups blueberries
½ cup water
2 tablespoons lemon juice
4 cups carbonated sparkling water

Steps:

  • Bring 1 cup water to a boil in a saucepan. Stir the sugar and basil into the water and return to a boil; cook at a boil for 10 minutes and immediately remove from heat. Chill in refrigerator until slightly cooled, about 10 minutes.
  • Blend the blueberries, 1/2 cup water, and the lemon juice in a blender until smooth; pour into a pitcher. Remove the basil leaves from the simple-syrup mixture; discard the basil. Stir the syrup into the blueberry mixture. Add the carbonated water to the mixture and stir gently.

20 ounces fresh blueberries, rinsed and drained
2 cups water
7 ounces sugar
1 lime, juiced
carbonated water

Steps:

  • Place the blueberries and the water into a medium saucepan, set over medium-high heat and bring to a boil.
  • Reduce the heat to low and simmer for 15 minutes.
  • Remove the saucepan from the heat and pour the mixture into a colander lined with cheesecloth that is set in a large bowl.
  • Allow to cool for 15 minutes.
  • Gather up the edges of the cheesecloth and squeeze out as much of the liquid as possible.
  • Discard the skin and pulp.
  • Return the blueberry juice to the saucepan along with the sugar and lime juice.
  • Place over medium high heat and stir until the sugar has dissolved.
  • Bring to a boil and cook for 2 minutes.
  • Remove from the heat and transfer to a heatproof glass container and place in the refrigerator, uncovered, until completely cooled.
  • Before Serving: Combine 1/4 cup of the liquid with 8-ounces of carbonated water and serve over ice.

150 ml lemon juice
150 g sugar
60 g blueberries
150 ml water ((at room temperature))
1350 ml soda water ((chilled))
Ice cubes

Steps:

  • Measure 150ml water (at room temperature) in a small pot.
  • Add sugar and cook it over low heat until it is completely dissolved.
  • Add the blueberries and continue cooking until the blueberries turn soft.
  • Remove the syrup from heat. Strain it into a measuring jug. Press the blueberries with a spoon to mash them and squeeze out all the juice.
  • Let the syrup cool down completely and then strain the lemon juice in. Mix well.
  • Pour the syrup into a glass jar or bottle and refrigerate until ready to use.
  • To make the blueberry soda, pour the above blueberry syrup into a 2 liters pitcher.
  • Add the chilled soda water and mix well.
  • Add ice cubes if you wish and serve immediately.

2 cups water
7 ounces sugar
1 lime, juiced
Carbonated water

Steps:

  • Place the blueberries and the water into a medium saucepan, set over medium-high heat and bring to a boil. Reduce the heat to low and simmer for 15 minutes. Remove the saucepan from the heat and pour the mixture into a colander lined with cheesecloth that is set in a large bowl. Allow to cool for 15 minutes. Gather up the edges of the cheesecloth and squeeze out as much of the liquid as possible. Discard the skin and pulp. Return the blueberry juice to the saucepan along with the sugar and lime juice.   • Lightly spray 9x12 pan with butter cooking spray(regular is fine).
  • In true "dump cake " fashion, layer ingredients as follows:.
  • 1st--Berries.
  • 2nd--cake mix.
  • 3rd--nuts, (if using).

1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
1 cup fresh blueberries
powdered sugar

Steps:

  • In a mixing bowl, add the flour and brown sugar; stir to mix.
  • With a pastry blender, cut in the butter until mixture resembles coarse meal.
  • Press 1 1/3 cup of mixture onto the bottom of an ungreased 8-inch square baking pan.
  • In another bowl, mix together the cinnamon, baking soda, and salt.
  • Add the remaining crumb mixture, sour cream, egg, and vanilla; stir to blend.
  • Add blueberries; stir to combine.
  • Spoon filling mixture evenly over the crust.
  • Bake at 350 degrees for 35 minutes.
  • Cool in the pan.
  • Sprinkle with powdered sugar.
  • Cut into bars and serve.
