CHEESE PUTO
Cheese Puto are soft, fluffy, and extra delicious with pockets of cheese! These Filipino steamed cakes are easy to make and fun to eat; delicious on their own or served with dinuguan or pancit.

Steps:
- In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, and baking powder. Mix well.
- Add eggs on at a time and using an electric mixer, beat after each addition.
- Add milk and beat until smooth.
- Add water and continue to beat until batter is thin and smooth.
- Add butter and vanilla extract. Stir until well blended.
- Add 3/4 of the cheese and stir until combined.
- Fill molds with batter up to 3/4 full. Arrange molds in a single layer on steamer rack and place over steamer.
- Steam for about 8 to 10 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
- Turn off heat and top each puto with the remaining 1/4 cup of cheese. Cover for about 1 minute to allow the residual heat to melt cheese.
- Allow to slightly cool before removing from molds.

PUTO CHEESE RECIPE
Steps:
- In a mixing bowl, add-in the all-purpose flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt (dry ingredients). Set aside.
- In a separate bowl, pour-in the water, evaporated milk, and eggs (wet ingredients). Mix well.
- Carefully pour-in the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and add-in the grated cheese. Mix until well-incorporated.
- Prepare individual puto molds (plastic molds) and brush with melted butter or cooking oil.
- Pour-in the puto mixture into the puto molds until ¾ full. Top each with a cheddar cheese strip
- Arrange the puto molds in a steamer. Steam for 8 to 10 minutes. Wrap the steamer lid with a tower or a cloth to avoid water from dripping.
- Let cool and remove the puto molds. Transfer to a serving plate or serving tray. Serve and enjoy!

PUTO CHEESE RECIPE

Steps:
- In a mixing bowl, put the flour, sugar, salt, and baking powder. Mix well. Then set aside.
- In the other mixing bowl, put the eggs, milk, water, and vanilla. Mix well. Then set aside
- Pour the mixture milk into the dry ingredients gradually.Mix well.
- Add the shredded cheese.
- Add food color to a better and colorful puto. But it is optional. Then set aside.
- Brush off oil in each cup or use cupcakes wrapper. Then fill each molder cup of puto mixture.
- Place them in the steamer properly. Steam for about 8-10 minutes.
- After 8 minutes put the slices of cheese on top of each puto and steam again for another 2 minutes.
- Before off the fire check the puto if it is already cooked.
- Let them cool down then remove the cooked puto from the molder cups.
- Serve and enjoy your puto cheese!

- Grease small cake, puto molds, or ramekins for use in a steamer. Mix the flour, sugar, and baking powder together in a bowl. In a separate, large bowl, scramble the eggs with the evaporated milk and water. Fold the dry mixture into the eggs until evenly blended. Fill the prepared molds 2/3 of the way up with the batter and top with shredded cheese.
- Fill a wok or a sauce pan that will hold a steamer basket with a few inches of water. Bring the water to a boil over medium-high heat. Place the molds into a steamer basket and place over the boiling water and cover.
- Steam until a toothpick inserted in the center of one of the putos comes out clean, about 30 minutes. Cool on a wire rack and serve warm or at room temperature.
