POOR STUDENT'S SANDWICH

Poor Student's Sandwich image

Inspired by the Ploughman's lunch, this is a healthy sandwich that you can make with only a few ingredients. I tried adding meat to it but it's really not necessary. I'm not a vegetarian and I have this sandwich regularly - it's that good!

Ingredients

2 slices bread
4 dill pickle slices
1 apple
1 slice cheese
1 tablespoon chacarero pepper sauce (Pepper Sauce for Chacarero's (pebre-chilean Name))

Steps:

Spread the chacarero sauce on one slice of bread and put the cheese on the other slice.
Toast both slices in the toaster oven.
Cut apple into thin and flat slices.
Put the sandwich together with the pickle slices and apple slices.
Cut and serve.

This breakfast is cheap and has always gotten me through some rough test mornings. Its easy to make a dozen and throw them in the fridge. My husband loves them and takes them to work.

Ingredients

1 (8 ounce) package Jimmy Dean sausage (any flavor)
10 eggs
10 slices American cheese
10 English muffins

Steps:

Brown sausage over medium heat. Drain sausage and let cool.
Meanwhile, make scrambled eggs to desired consistancy. Set aside and cool.
Once sausage and eggs are cooled completely begin making breakfast sandwich.
Cut apart english muffins, top with eggs and sausage. Then place one slice of cheese on top of mixture. Place other side of muffin on top.
Place one sandwich in a plastic bag and store in fridge. Easy to reheat in microwave.
