PEANUT BUTTER UGLIES
This recipe came from my friend, Regina. She brought these odd looking little mounds into work one day, and I was enthralled. They are YUMMY and were a HUGE hit with my congregation (I would bring PILES for the volunteers on work days - and they would be GONE quite quickly). I added actual measurements - but feel free to add more or less cornflakes to your "gooey taste." Too easy!

Steps:
- Put peanut butter, corn syrup and sugar in saucepan. Warm over low heat and stir until melted and smooth. Remove from heat.
- Add cornflakes to saucepan until cornflakes are coated and still sticky and gooey. Don't add too many or the cookies will be dry; but add enough so that you can scoop them out.
- Drop by spoonfuls onto waxed paper to cool.
- EAT! YUMMY!

My aunt used to make these when I was a little girl. I think they are a nice change from marshmallow treats.

Steps:
- In a medium sauce pan, mix together sugar, peanut butter, and corn syrup. Be careful not to let it burn, or it will ruin the recipe. Stir mixture until well melted. Remove pan from heat.
- Combine warm peanut butter mixture with crisp rice cereal.
- Grease well a 9 x 13 inch pan with butter or margarine. Spread mixture in pan. Allow to cool. When mixture is no longer sticky to the touch, cut into bars.

Steps:
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
- In a medium bowl, mix together peanut butter, sugar, egg, and vanilla until well blended. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheets. Use a fork to make a criss-cross pattern on the top. Make a small hole in the top of each cookie using the handle of a wooden spoon. Fill the holes with preserves.
- Bake for 8 to 11 minutes in preheated oven. Allow to cool for a couple of minutes on the cookie sheets before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.
