2 teaspoons margarine
3 tablespoons chopped onion
1 (16 ounce) can baked beans with pork
1 (16 ounce) package frankfurters, sliced
⅓ cup brown sugar
1 teaspoon prepared mustard
1 teaspoon celery salt

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  • Melt butter in a skillet over medium heat. Saute onions in butter until tender. Stir in the baked beans and sliced frankfurters. Season with brown sugar, mustard and celery salt. Transfer to a 2 quart casserole dish.
  • Bake for 40 minutes, stirring occasionally.

1/2 cup ketchup
1/4 cup molasses
2 tablespoons brown sugar
1 tablespoon mustard
1/2 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
2 16-ounce cans baked pork and beans in tomato sauce (about 5 cups, undrained)
6 hot dogs

Steps:

  • Gather the ingredients. Heat the oven to 300 F.
  • Mix together onion, ketchup, molasses, brown sugar, mustard, and Worcestershire sauce. Add beans and stir to blend.
  • Spoon the seasoned bean mixture into a 2-quart casserole and bake for 1 1/2 to 2 hours.
  • Arrange the franks on the beans and bake for 30 minutes longer.

1 medium onion, vertically sliced
½ cup tomato sauce
½ cup beef broth, or as needed
1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon cider vinegar
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon Sriracha sauce, or more to taste
½ teaspoon white sugar
½ teaspoon chili powder
½ teaspoon salt
1 (15.5 ounce) can dark red kidney beans, undrained
½ pound all-beef franks, cut into 1-inch slices

Steps:

  • Melt butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Stir in onion and saute until tender, 3 to 4 minutes.
  • Whisk tomato sauce, 1/2 cup beef broth, flour, cider vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, Sriracha, sugar, chili powder, and salt together in a small bowl. Add to the onions and cook, stirring constantly, until mixture starts to thicken, about 2 minutes.
  • Stir in kidney beans and franks. Reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer until franks are heated through, 8 to 10 minutes, adding more beef broth if it becomes too thick.

An old family classic from my great aunt. Easy and surprisingly delicious! Easy on the budget too! This is also a great recipe to play around with and perfect to your liking. Serve with cornbread.

1 pound dry pinto beans
1 pound bulk pork sausage
1 pound ground beef
1 onion, chopped
1 green bell pepper, chopped
1 (10 ounce) can diced tomatoes and green chiles, undrained
½ cup ketchup
chili powder to taste

Steps:

  • Pick over and rinse the dried beans, and place them in a large saucepan of water with a lid. Bring to a boil over high heat, cover, turn off the heat, and let the beans sit for 1 hour. Drain and rinse the beans in a colander, return to the saucepan, cover with water, and simmer for 2 hours, until the beans are tender.
  • Meanwhile, place the sausage, beef, onion, and green pepper in a skillet over medium heat, and cook and stir for about 10 minutes, until the3 sausage and beef are evenly brown.
  • Stir the meat mixture into the beans, and mix in the tomatoes with chiles, ketchup, and chili powder. Bring the mixture to a boil, reduce the heat, and simmer for about 20 minutes to thicken.

1 pound dried pinto beans
1 boneless pork loin roast (3 to 4 pounds), halved
1 can (14-1/2 ounces) stewed tomatoes
5 medium carrots, chopped
4 celery ribs, chopped
1-1/2 cups water
2 cans (4 ounces each) chopped green chiles
2 tablespoons chili powder
4 garlic cloves, minced
2 teaspoons ground cumin
1 teaspoon dried oregano
Dash pepper
Tortilla chips or tortillas
Optional toppings: Chopped green onions, sliced ripe olives, chopped tomatoes, shredded cheddar cheese, sour cream and/or shredded lettuce

Steps:

  • Sort beans and rinse with cold water. Soak beans according to the package directions., Drain and rinse beans, discarding liquid. Place roast in a 5-qt. slow cooker. In a bowl, combine the beans, tomatoes, carrots, celery, water, chiles, chili powder, garlic, cumin, oregano and pepper. Pour over roast. Cover and cook on high 3 hours. Reduce heat to low; cook until beans are tender, 5 hours longer., Remove meat, shred with 2 forks and return to slow cooker. With a slotted spoon, serve meat mixture over corn chips or in tortillas with toppings as desired.

2 teaspoon s Worcestershire sauce
1/4 pound Kraft sharp cheddar cheese, cubed small
1/4 cup of parmesan cheese, grated

Steps:

  • Mix all ingredients except parmesan cheese.
  • Sprinkle top with parmesan cheese.
  • Bake at 350 degrees F for 45 minutes. Serve hot.

6 slices bacon fried, crumbled and drippings reserved
2 (16-ounce) cans pork and beans
1 pound hot dog diagonally cut in 1-inch pieces
1 (15-ounce) can pineapple tidbit drained and juice reserved
1/2 cup brown sugar packed
1/2 cup chili sauce
3 tablespoons bourbon whiskey or pineapple juice
1 tablespoon instant coffee

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 400°. In a 10-inch skillet over medium-high heat, sauté onion in reserved bacon drippings. Using a slotted spoon, carefully lift onion from skillet and place in a 2-quart casserole.To casserole, add beans, frankfurters, pineapple, brown sugar, chili sauce, bourbon or pineapple juice and coffee granules. Gently stir to thoroughly mix ingredients. Sprinkle bacon over the top.Bake for 1 hour or until beans are bubbly and juice has thickened.

Cook on medium-low heat, partially covered and stirring often, until liquid thickens, 40–50 minutes. Discard bundle and bay leaves. Mix in butter and 2 Tbsp. chopped herbs. Season with salt and pepper.
  • Meanwhile, after beans have been cooking for about 25 minutes, heat remaining 1 Tbsp. oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Cook remaining sausages, turning occasionally, until browned and cooked through, 15–20 minutes. Slice.
