FIVE INGREDIENT PASTA TOSS



Five Ingredient Pasta Toss image

Pasta is tossed with white beans, roasted tomatoes, fresh basil, and a garlic infused olive oil. Serve with crusty bread to soak up the sauce and any leftover garlic olive oil. This isn't a hot pasta dish so it's perfect for summer.

¼ cup extra-virgin olive oil
2 cloves garlic, crushed
8 ounces farfalle (bow tie) pasta
1 (15 ounce) can seasoned small white beans, rinsed and drained
1 (14.5 ounce) can fire-roasted diced tomatoes, with juice
¼ cup chopped fresh basil leaves, or amount to taste

Steps:

  • Combine the olive oil and garlic in a small bowl. Set aside.
  • Fill a large pot with lightly salted water and bring to a rolling boil over high heat. Once the water is boiling, stir in the bow tie pasta and return to a boil. Cook the pasta uncovered, stirring occasionally, until the pasta has cooked through, but is still firm to the bite, about 12 minutes. Drain well in a colander set in the sink.
  • Place the pasta, beans, tomatoes, basil, and 2 tablespoons of the garlic olive oil in a large bowl; toss gently until combined. Serve the remaining olive oil at the table to drizzle over individual servings.

1/2 lb. spaghetti, uncooked
1 lb. lean ground beef
1 small onion, chopped
1 pkg. (1 oz.) TACO BELL® Taco Seasoning Mix
1 cup water
1 cup frozen corn
1/2 cup TACO BELL® Thick & Chunky Salsa
1 cup shredded lettuce
1 cup KRAFT Mexican Style Shredded Four Cheese with a TOUCH OF PHILADELPHIA
1/4 cup BREAKSTONE'S or KNUDSEN Sour Cream

Steps:

  • Cook spaghetti as directed on package, omitting salt.
  • Meanwhile, brown meat with onions in large skillet. Stir in next 4 ingredients. Bring to boil; cover. Simmer on medium-low heat 3 min. or until heated through, stirring occasionally.
  • Drain spaghetti; place in large bowl. Add meat sauce; mix lightly. Top with remaining ingredients.

16 ounces rotini pasta
4 boneless skinless chicken breast halves, cut into bite size pieces
4 tablespoons olive oil
3 garlic cloves, minced
1 1/4 teaspoons salt
1 1/4 teaspoons garlic powder
1 1/4 teaspoons dried basil
1 1/4 teaspoons dried oregano
1 cup sun-dried tomato, chopped
1/4 cup parmesan cheese, grated (optional)

Steps:

  • Cook and drain pasta as directed.
  • While pasta is cooking, in a large pot, heat olive oil and saute chicken, garlic, salt, garlic powder, basil, and oregano until chicken is cooked.
  • Add sun-dried tomatoes and cook for two minutes.
  • Remove from heat and toss with pasta.
  • Serve with grated Parmesan cheese if desired.

Try this when you are looking for something quick and different after a long day.I grow my own herbs and jalapenos so I recommend using fresh herbs but dried is fine too.This works well with linguine or angel hair pasta.

2 tablespoons olive oil
4 minced garlic cloves
1 (28 ounce) can chopped tomatoes
1/2 cup red wine (optional)
1/2 tablespoon oregano
1/2 tablespoon basil
1/2 tablespoon parsley
1/4 cup yellow onion, finely chopped
1 jalapeno, chopped (seeds and ribs removed)
1/2 teaspoon sugar
parmesan cheese

Steps:

  • Finely chop Jalapeno,onion,garlic.
  • saute above with olive oil until soft,translucent.
  • Add can tomatoes,wine and sugar.
  • Simmer on low for 15 minutes.
  • Add oregano and Basil simmer another 5 minute.
  • Toss sauce over cooked pasta
  • garnish with Parsley and cheese.
  • Serve with good italian bread-.

I've been modifying this recipe over the years and this current rendition has become a real crowd-pleaser. It's quick, easy and a nice change of pace from regular spaghetti.

1 pound spaghetti
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 onion, chopped
1 (16 ounce) jar spaghetti sauce
1 (15 ounce) can black beans, rinsed and drained
1 (15 ounce) can kidney beans
1 cup sweet corn kernels
2 teaspoons ground cumin
1 dash hot pepper sauce
salt to taste
ground black pepper to taste
2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese

Steps:

  • In a large skillet heat cook the onion in the olive oil until tender. Add the spaghetti sauce, black beans, kidney beans, corn, and mix well. Stir in the cumin, red pepper sauce, salt, and ground black pepper. Simmer for 15 to 20 minutes.
  • Meanwhile, in a large pot with boiling salted water cook spaghetti until al dente. Drain.
  • Toss pasta with spaghetti sauce. Serve with freshly grated Parmesan cheese.

1 pounds rotini pasta
1 heads broccoli florets
1.5 cups carrots
1 cups celery
0.5 units onion
1 units cucumber
2 units tomatoes
1 cans garbanzo beans
0.5 bottles salad toppings
16 ounces zesty italian dressing
1 units salt

Steps:

  • Cook pasta until al dente-(still somewhat with a bite) drain & cool.
  • In meantime clean and chop all vegatables and place in a large bowl. Toss in cooled pasta, beans, salad toppings, and fold in dressing of choice.
  • Let set overnight. Toss and ENJOY!
