PARMESAN ORZO RECIPE
Quick and easy side dish recipe! This Parmesan Orzo is ready in 15 minutes and loaded with cheese and garlic.

Steps:
- In a small saucepan combine the orzo and butter. Melt butter over medium heat and stir regularly. Lightly toast the orzo. This should take about 2-3 minutes.
- Pour the can of broth and the garlic in the orzo mixture. Heat over low heat, stirring regularly until all the broth is absorbed. Make sure not to turn it up to high or the broth will be absorbed before the orzo is done.
- Stir in Parmesan cheese until melted. Serve immediately.

CREAMY GARLIC PARMESAN ORZO
This Creamy Garlic Parmesan Orzo can be on your table in 15 minutes! While it's perfect as a side dish, I prefer this as a meal on its own because it's cheesy, creamy and really hits the spot.

Steps:
- In a large skillet add the olive oil, butter and cook for about 30 seconds until the butter melts. Stir in the onion and garlic and let it cook for about 2 minutes until the onion softens and the garlic becomes aromatic.
- Add the orzo to the skillet and let it cook for about 2 minutes just in the oil so that it starts to toast lightly, this will give it a nutty flavor.
- Season with salt and pepper then stir in the chicken broth and half and half. Bring to a boil, then turn the heat down to a medium-low, cover with a lid and let it cook for 5 minutes.
- Remove the lid and stir in the Parmesan cheese and fresh parsley.
- Serve immediately.

- Melt butter in heavy skillet over medium-high heat. Stir in orzo and saute until lightly browned.
- Stir in chicken stock and bring to boil. Cover. Reduce heat and simmer until orzo is tender and liquid is absorbed, about 15 - 20 minutes.
- Mix in Parmesan cheese and basil. Season with salt and pepper. Transfer to shallow bowl. Garnish with basil sprigs.

Add the orzo and white wine and cook until the wine is absorbed, 2 to 3 minutes. Add the chicken broth, some salt and pepper and 2 cups water and bring to a simmer. Cook, stirring often, until the orzo is tender and cooked through, about 20 minutes.
- Stir in the arugula, Parmesan and butter and serve.

- Cook the bacon in a large saucepan over medium heat until crisp; remove with a slotted spoon (you can drain the bacon fat or leave it).
- Melt 2-3 tablespoons butter, then add in onions and garlic; saute until soft (about 5 minutes).
- Add in the orzo and stir for about 2 minutes.
- Slowly add in the 4-1/2 cups broth; simmer uncovered until the orzo is firm-tender and the broth is absorbed, stirring occasionally (this should take about 7-8 minutes).
- Add in whipping cream and bring to a simmer.
- Mix in Parmesan cheese and thyme, then cooked bacon.
- Season with salt and pepper.
