Provided by Lisa Johnson @georgiagirl48

Categories     Chocolate

Number Of Ingredients 5

1 - store bought 9 inch pie crust, defrosted
1/4 cup(s) hazelnuts (aka filberts), toasted and finely chopped
1/2 cup(s) nutella or other hazelnut spread
1 - egg, beaten
1/4 cup(s) sugar

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper Unroll dough and use about a 2 ½ inch round cookie cutter to make 16 pastry rounds (You will have to re-roll dough out a few times to get 16 rounds.) Place ½ tsp Nutella in the center of each round, then sprinkle ¼ tsp nuts over Nutella. Using your finger or small pastry brush, rub/brush a little egg wash on the edge of each round. Fold over to form a pocket or "half moon", dip a fork into egg wash, drip to get rid of excess and use it to seal pocket shut. Place all the pockets on prepared baking sheet, brush each with egg wash, and sprinkle each with a pinch of sugar. Bake for 18-20 minutes, or until golden brown on edges. Serve warm, either quickly after baking or microwave them for about 1 minute before serving.

AIR FRYER NUTELLA®-STUFFED PASTRY

Air Fryer Nutella®-Stuffed Pastry image

Flaky Nutella®-stuffed pastry that isn't overly sweet, great with a cup of tea.

Provided by Bren

Categories     Desserts     Chocolate Dessert Recipes

Time 30m

Yield 8

Number Of Ingredients 5

1 (10 ounce) can refrigerated biscuit dough (such as Pillsbury Grands Jr.®)
5 tablespoons chocolate-hazelnut spread (such as Nutella®), or more to taste
cooking spray
2 tablespoons salted butter, melted
1 tablespoon powdered sugar, or as needed

Steps:

  • Lightly flour a clean work surface and a rolling pin.
  • Separate each biscuit and roll each dough piece into an 8x3 1/2-inch sheet. Spread 1 1/2 teaspoons chocolate-hazelnut spread down the center of each piece, keeping 1 inch bare at the top and bottom. Fold the top and bottom down towards the center of the sheet. Roll up the remaining dough tightly to create a cigar shape.
  • Preheat the air fryer to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Lightly spray the basket with cooking spray.
  • Set pastries into the air fryer basket, seam-side down, leaving at least 2 inches between individual pastries since they will expand. Work in batches depending on the size of your air fryer. Brush tops with butter.
  • Air fry until golden browned and puffed up, about 5 minutes.
  • Transfer pastries to a serving dish. Brush with more butter and lightly dust with powdered sugar.
