My mom is Chinese, and often catered for special events. Everyone always asked for the recipe for the sauce that she marinated her meats in. It is savory and delicious, and I've never tasted anything like it anywhere else! Whether you're baking, grilling, or pan-frying your meats, this can't be beat! I make several jars of this stuff at Christmas to give away as gifts. Everyone loves it! You can use this sauce either as a marinade or in stir-fry.

Number Of Ingredients 7

1 cup oyster sauce (I prefer the Lee Kum Chee brand. You can buy it at oriental markets in bulk)
1 cup dark soy sauce
1/4 cup sesame oil
1/4 cup cooking sherry
1/4 cup teriyaki sauce
1/4 cup pancake syrup (though this might seem bizarre, it's the most important ingredient. It caramelizes as it cooks, seal)
3 tablespoons of minced garlic (less if you're not a huge garlic fan)

Steps:

  • Mix all ingredients and store in a large jar or Tupperware container. Store in refrigerator for up to three months. Mix well before using. Use on pork, chicken, beef, or as a stir-fry sauce.
  • When I use it on chicken, I add a little orange juice. For beef, I add a little Worcestershire sauce. For pork, I add a little brown sugar.
  • For best results, marinate your meats in the sauce overnight in a large zip-lock bag.

Not only are these these most delicious steaks they are so tender you can slice them with a butter knife! --- of coarse you may use any cut of steak desired, I prefer rib-eyes --- plan ahead the steaks needs to marinate for 6-24 hours and must be brought down to room temperature before cooking which may take a couple hours.

1/2 cup olive oil
1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce
1/2 cup low sodium soy sauce (use only low-sodium)
3 tablespoons minced fresh garlic
1 small onions or 2 small green onions, chopped
1 -2 teaspoon fresh ground black pepper
1 tablespoon dried rosemary (can use less)
1/4 cup A.1. Original Sauce
2 tablespoons steak seasoning, spice (any brand will do, I use Club House Steak Seasoning)
4 (11 -12 ounce) rib eye steaks (or a little smaller, or use steaks of choice)

Steps:

  • In a food processor combine all ingredients except the steaks; process until well blended.
  • Using a fork prick holes on both sides of the steaks, then place in a shallow glass baking dish or container.
  • Pour the marinade over steaks and turn to make certain that steaks are coated in the marinade.
  • Cover and refrigerate for 6-24 hours (turning once or twice during marinating time).
  • A couple of hours before ready to grill remove the steaks from the fridge and the marinade, place on plates and let come down to room temperature (discard the marinade).
  • Grill steaks until desired doneness.

This Mouthwatering Steak and Potatoes Appetizer is simple to make yet elegant to serve. This would put the wow into any dinner party!!

Number Of Ingredients 5

1.5 lb. Little Potato Company Blushing Belles
2 medium sized filet mignon
1 package bernaise sauce
Salt and pepper
Chives for garnish, optional

Steps:

  • Salt and pepper steaks well on all sides and let rest to come to room temperature for 10 min.
  • Fill a pot of water and add Little Potatoes, no need for washing or peeling. Bring to boil, reduce heat and simmer for 15 min. Drain and let cool.
  • Meanwhile whisk together the bernaise sauce per package instructions.
  • Preheat BBQ and grill the steak about 5 min. per side or until desired doneness. Let rest for 5 min. while potatoes cool enough to handle.
  • Slice potatoes in half. Cut steak in slices and lay a slice on each potato half.
  • Drop a small spoonful of bernaise sauce on each potato steak stack and garnish with chives if desired. Serve immediately.
