EASY MICROWAVE MULLED "APPLE CIDER"

Easy Microwave Mulled

Adapted from a stovetop recipe in an old Pleasant Company (Yes, as in American Girl) cookbook called "Great Girl Food". Simple to make, and good for when you want a quick, warming drink! I should note that the sugar HAS to be brown. The molasses in brown sugar adds an extra needed touch of spice. The spice mixture will also leave a bit of grit behind in the mug if you don't stir it around every once in a while as you're drinking it. I wish I could come up with a way to fix that, but so far I haven't thought of one yet.

Time 3m

Yield 8 ounces, 1 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 6

1 cup apple juice
1 teaspoon brown sugar
1 dash ground cinnamon
1 dash ground nutmeg
1 dash ground cloves
1 dash ground allspice

Steps:

  • Combine all ingredients in a microwave safe mug.
  • Place mug in microwave and cook on HIGH for 1-2 minutes, depending on the wattage of your microwave. You may have to wait for a minute or so before you drink it, because it will be hot.
  • Enjoy your "cider"! TIP: this tastes even better with a little caramel sauce stirred into it!
