Mars Bar Cocktail Food

DEEP FRIED MARS BARS

Steps:

• Chill the chocolate bar by keeping it in the fridge, but don't freeze it.
• Mix the flours and bicarbonate of soda (baking soda) together.
• Add milk (traditional) or beer (which gives a lighter result) until you get a batter with the consistency of thin cream.
• Heat the oil until a small piece of bread will brown in a few seconds, but don't allow to smoke.
• Remove wrapper from chilled chocolate bar.
• Coat completely in batter.
• Carefully lower into hot oil and fry until golden brown.
• Serve, with ice cream or french fries, if you're so inclined.

MARS BAR CUPS WITH TOASTED MARSHMALLOWS

Steps:

• Heat the double cream to simmering pot; Turn heat to low and add the Mars bars, stirring until smooth.
• Remove from heat and add Cognac and butter.
• Pour the mix into a bowl, allowing it to cool and chill until thick and gooey- about 1 hour.
• Skewer each marshmallow on a cocktail stick and toast over a gas flame.
• Whip the whipping cream.
• Pour a little of the chocolate mix into 6 espresso cups, cover with a layer of cream and fill the cup with more Mars mix.
• Serve topped with a toasted marshmallow.

MARS BAR SURPRISE COOKIES

Steps:

• Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
• In a large bowl beat the brown sugar and 3/4 cups of the white sugar with the lard (save the other 1/4 cup of white sugar). Add the eggs and vanilla. Add the cocoa powder and baking powder. Mix in the flour until you have formed the dough.
• Cut the mars bars into one inch cubes. Take a chunk of the dough and form it into a small cup shape in your hand. Put in a cube of the mars bar and roll the dough around it to form a ball. Roll the ball into the 1/4 cup of white sugar. Place on parchment paper on a baking sheet.
• Once you have all the cookies formed and on the baking sheet - bake for 12 minutes. Let them cool before you eat them as the melted caramel middle can burn!

" MARS BAR" BARS

Steps:

• In large saucepan, cut up Mars bars and melt with butter.
• Stir in Rice Krispies and press mixture into a buttered 8 inch square pan.
• Melt chocolate chips and spread over Rice Krispies mixture.
• After chocolate sets, cut into squares.

MARS BARS RICE KRISPIES SQUARES (NO-BAKE)

Steps:

• Melt butter and Mars bars over med-low heat in a large saucepan until smooth.
• Remove from heat; stir in Rice Krispies cereal, and nuts, (if using).
• Press into a greased 8x8 pan.
• Top with chocolate chips, and place under broiler for 30 seconds Remove from oven and spread chocolate evenly over squares.
• Store in fridge.
• Cut into squares, and serve.
