This easy hamburger and macaroni recipe is tops for weeknights! Some call it goulash or American chop suey, but it's nothing more than ground beef cooked with onions, tomato sauce, and macaroni. Comfort food heaven!

- Start cooking the pasta: Get a large pot of salted hot water (1 tablespoon of salt for 2 quarts of water) boiling and begin cooking the macaroni as per the directions on the macaroni package.
- Drain the pasta: Drain the pasta, reserving a half cup of the pasta cooking water.

Steps:
- Cook the macaroni following pack instructions, adding the cauliflower for the final 4 mins.
- Melt the butter in a pan, then stir in the flour and mustard powder and cook for 2 mins. Gradually add the milk, stirring all the time to get a smooth sauce. Add three-quarters of the cheese and some seasoning to the sauce.
- Drain the macaroni and cauliflower and stir into the cheese sauce. Transfer to an ovenproof dish, then sprinkle over the remaining cheese and flash under a hot grill until golden and bubbling. Serve with a green salad, if you like.

- Fry bacon (save bacon grease to sauté onion).
- Sauté onion.
- Boil macaroni according to directions.
- Drain bacon.
- Drain onions.
- Drain macaroni.
- In a pot add all including tomatoes; and season to taste with salt and pepper. Bring to high heat but don't boil (to prevent bitter tomatoes).
