BEEF LIVER CURRY



Beef Liver Curry image

This easy meal made with nutrient-dense liver in creamy curry sauce. Done in one skillet with simple seven ingredients in 25 minutes.

1 1/2 cup grape tomatoes
1 pound beef liver (rinsed)
1 can coconut milk
1 tsp sea salt
2 tsp spicy curry
1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
1 1/2 cup frozen peas

Steps:

  • Gather the ingredients.
  • Preheat the cast-iron skillet or non-stick pan on medium-high heat.
  • Slice tomatoes in half, add to the hot pan, press with a spatula so the juices will release, and cook for about 2-3 minutes till tomatoes get soft.
  • Using sharp knife dice the liver into bite-size cubes, removing the white membranes that could be present.
  • Add to the pan with tomatoes. Fry stirring till meat will get browned but not completely cooked for approximately 3-4 minutes.
  • Add coconut milk, curry spice., salt, apple cider vinegar, peas. Bring to boil, then reduce heat to medium-low, cover, and simmer for 10 minutes on low heat.

This is a simple and different way to serve liver. Liver is full of goodness. The recipe will be good with lambs, pigs or chicken livers. If using chicken livers be gentle as they are more likely to break apart than the other livers. A cheap dish to serve with a curry.

1 lb liver, sliced
1 medium onion, sliced
1 teaspoon ready made mustard
2 teaspoons oil
1 teaspoon turmeric
1 teaspoon chili powder
1 teaspoon ground black pepper
1 teaspoon ground ginger
1 teaspoon salt
2 garlic cloves, chopped

Steps:

  • Heat the oil in a pan and add the mustard, stir well to blend them together, add the onion and fry till just golden.
  • Mix together the turmeric, chilli powder, black pepper, salt and the ginger with a little milk to make a thin paste.
  • Coat the liver with the spice mix and add to the pan with the garlic. Cover the pan and cook over low heat till the liver is tender.
  • Serve with rice or noodles.

5 medium onions, sliced
1 tablespoon lemon rind, grated
2 garlic cloves, chopped
1 fresh red chile, chopped
1 green pepper, diced
1 1/2 tablespoons ground coriander
3/4 tablespoon ground cumin
1 teaspoon fennel seed
1 1/2 lbs liver
1 beef stock cube
1 1/2 cups coconut milk

Steps:

  • Heat the oil in a lage pan and fry the onions for 5 minutes.
  • Add the lemon rind, garlic,chilli, pepper and the spices, cook for 3 minutes.
  • Fry the liver on both sides in the spice mixture, crumble in the beef stock cube and stir in the coconut milk.
  • Bring to the boil, lower heat and simmer for 20 minutes Season with salt to taste.
  • Serve with rice or noodles.

  • Take 2-3 tsp cooking oil in saucepan or Kadhai and heat it with medium flame. After enough heat, the oil, take ½ tsp cumin seeds and add these in the oil. Sauté it until it turns light red.
  • Now take chopped green chili and onion and add them in the saucepan. Add salt and Sauté them for 3-4 minutes. While the onion starts to turn light brown then add all the spices (excepts sliced green chili and coriander leaves) and sauté for 5 minutes.
  • Now add chopped tomatoes and stir a little then close the lid of the saucepan. Cook it for five minutes then open the lid.
  • Add chicken liver and stir for 5-6 minutes or up to change the color then add ½ cup water and close the lid again.

  • In a wok, fry onion on slow heat for 7-10 minutes. When onion slices are very soft increase heat to medium and stir constantly until light golden.
  • Mix in ingredints in the spice list and give it a stir. When spices sizzle add tomatoes. Cover and cook on medium heat for 5-7 minutes. When tomatoes are soft stir on high heat and dry all tomato water.
  • When oil separates on sides of wok pour in yogurt and fenugreek leaves. Sear for another 2 minutes.
  • Now, mix in liver pieces and stir for a minute until color changes. Cover and cook for 2 minutes on medium flame. Remove lid, sprinkle salt. Cook for another 2 minutes on high heat with constant stirring.
