Yummmmmy kid-friendly dish. When I was a child, my mom always let my sister and I make this with her and it was fun. As an adult, I still enjoy making it.

1 ½ cups white sugar
1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
3 (10 ounce) cans refrigerated biscuit dough
3 tablespoons butter, melted, or more to taste
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease a fluted tube pan (such as Bundt®).
  • Mix together sugar and cinnamon in a medium bowl. Tear each biscuit in 1/2, then roll each piece into a ball. Roll each ball in the sugar-cinnamon mixture until completely covered. Place in the prepared pan, filling the pan up to 3/4 full to allow biscuit balls to expand.
  • Combine butter, vanilla extract, and nutmeg in a small bowl, mix in some of the leftover sugar-cinnamon mixture, and pour over the biscuit balls.
  • Bake in the preheated oven until golden brown and no longer doughy in the center, about 45 minutes. Cool in the pan for 5 to 10 minutes, then flip pan onto a serving dish to release the monkey bread.

Monkey Bread with Cream Cheese filling. This is the most decadant monkey bread you will ever put into your mouth! Better than a Cinnabon!

Number Of Ingredients 7

1/3 cup sugar
4 teaspoons cinnamon
1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese
2 (12 ounce) cans refrigerated buttermilk biscuits
1/2 cup butter
1 cup brown sugar
2/3 cup pecans, chopped

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350.
  • In a small bowl mix sugar, cinnamon and cream cheese together.
  • Flatten out one peice of dough and place a small spoonful of the cream cheese mixture in the center. Wrap the edges of the dough around the mixture sealing to make a pouch. Repeat with the remaining dough.
  • Melt butter and brown sugar together until it becomes a smooth mixture.
  • Sprinkle the nuts (optional) in bottom of a monkey bread pan or a bundt cake pan.
  • Arrange bisquit pouches in pan, they will overlap.
  • Pour the butter and brown sugar mixtrue over the pouches.
  • Bake for 30 minutes and invert onto a serving plate. You may need to adjust the cooking time for a bundt pan. YUMMY!

This recipe comes to me from my mother. It is a great, simple dessert that even the most novice cook can master. Best served warm with vanilla ice cream. A real kid pleaser too, "Can we have some Monkey bread, please?"

3 (10 ounce) cans biscuits
3/4 cup sugar
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 cup butter
1 cup brown sugar

Steps:

  • Place sugar and cinnamon into plastic bag.
  • Add biscuits (a few at a time) into bag and shake to coat well.
  • Grease bundt cake pan and place biscuits into pan.
  • In saucepan bring brown sugar and butter to a boil.
  • Pour brown sugar and butter sauce over biscuits.
  • Bake at 350 degrees for 30-35 minutes.
