1 loaf (1 pound) frozen bread dough, thawed
1/3 cup butter, softened
1 tablespoon Italian seasoning
1 garlic clove, minced
3/4 cup shredded part-skim mozzarella cheese
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese, divided
Marinara sauce, warmed, optional

Steps:

  • On a lightly floured surface, roll dough into a 12-in. square. In a small bowl, mix butter, Italian seasoning and garlic; spread over dough. Sprinkle mozzarella cheese and 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese over butter mixture. Fold dough in thirds over filling; pinch seams to seal., Cut crosswise into twenty-four 1/2-in.-wide strips. Twist each strip 2 or 3 times. Place 2 in. apart on greased baking sheets. Cover and let rise until almost doubled, about 30 minutes., Preheat oven to 375°. Sprinkle with remaining Parmesan cheese. Bake until golden brown, 20-22 minutes. If desired, serve with marinara sauce.

The soft, chewy breadsticks are irresistible when brushed with butter and sprinkled with Parmesan cheese. Number Of Ingredients 11

1 cup water (70° to 80°)
3 tablespoons butter, softened
1-1/2 teaspoons salt
3 cups bread flour
2 tablespoons sugar
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
1 teaspoon garlic powder
2-1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast
TOPPING:
1 tablespoon butter, melted
1 tablespoon grated Parmesan cheese

Steps:

  • In bread machine pan, place the water, butter, salt, flour, sugar, Italian seasoning, garlic powder and yeast in order suggested by manufacturer. Select dough setting (check dough after 5 minutes of mixing; add 1 to 2 tablespoons water or flour if needed). , When cycle is completed, turn dough onto a lightly floured surface; divide in half. Cut each portion into 12 pieces; roll each into a 4-in. to 6-in. rope. Place 2 in. apart on greased baking sheets. Cover and let rise in a warm place until doubled, about 20 minutes. , Bake at 350° for 15-18 minutes or until golden brown. Immediately brush with butter; sprinkle with Parmesan cheese. Serve warm.

  • PREHEAT oven to 350°.
  • Place pizza dough on a flat surface and roll out into a rectangular shape.
  • Brush olive oil onto the top of the pizza dough.
  • Sprinkle with Garlic Powder.
  • Next, add an even layer of mozzarella cheese.
  • Top with Italian Seasoning.

1 sheet frozen puff pastry (from a 17.3-ounce package, such as Pepperidge Farm), thawed in the refrigerator
2 tablespoons salted butter, melted
1 cup grated mozzarella (hard, not fresh)
3/4 cup grated Parmesan
2 tablespoons chopped fresh oregano
1 tablespoon chopped fresh basil
1 large egg
Warm marinara, for serving

Steps:

  • Line a baking sheet with parchment.
  • Lightly roll out the sheet of pastry into a 10-by-12-inch rectangle, then brush with the melted butter. Sprinkle over the mozzarella, 1/2 cup of the Parmesan, the oregano and basil. Using a rolling pin, press the cheese into the pastry. Cut the 12-inch side of the pastry into 12 strips. Twist each strip about 5 times and transfer to the prepared baking sheet. Place in the freezer for 20 minutes.
  • Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F.
  • Mix together the egg and 1 teaspoon water in a small bowl. Brush the strips with the egg mixture and sprinkle over the remaining 1/4 cup Parmesan. Bake until golden brown and puffed, 10 to 12 minutes. Let cool before removing from the baking sheet. Serve the cheese sticks with warm marinara alongside.

INGREDIENTS
2 1/2 c all purpose flour
1 Tbsp yeast (or 1 packet)
1 tsp sugar
1 tsp salt
1 c warm water (120-130 degrees)
1 Tbsp oil
TOPPING
1/4-1/3 c prepared italian salad dressing
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 tsp garlic powder
1/4 tsp oregano, dried
1/4 tsp thyme, dried
dash(es) pepper
1 Tbsp grated parmesan cheese
1/2 c shreded mozzarella cheese

Steps:

  • 1. In a large bowl, combine 2 cups flour, yeast sugar and salt. Add water and oil to dry ingredients; beat just until moistened. Stir in enough remaining flour to form a soft dough.
  • 2. Turn onto a floured surface; knead for 1-2 minutes or until smooth and elastic. Place in a greased bowl, turning once to grease top. Cover and let rise in a warm place for 20 minutes.
  • 3. While dough is rising combine the remaining ingredient EXCEPT for mozzarella cheese.
  • 4. Punch dough down; place on a greased 12-inch pizza pan and pat into a 12-inch circle. Brush with salad dressing and sprinkle seasoning mixture mozzarella cheese.
  • 5. Bake at 450 degrees for 15 minutes or until golden brown. Cut into sticks and serve warm.

2-1/4 cups all-purpose flour
3-1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1 tablespoon sugar
1/2 teaspoon seasoned salt
1/2 teaspoon dried basil
1 cup 2% milk
1/3 cup butter, melted
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1/2 teaspoon garlic salt

Steps:

  • In a small bowl, combine the first five ingredients. Gradually add milk, tossing with a fork until dough forms a ball. Turn onto a lightly floured surface; knead 8-10 times., Roll dough into a 14x10-in. rectangle. Cut in half lengthwise; cut each half widthwise into 1-in. strips. Place butter in a shallow bowl. Dip each strip into butter; twist two to three times., Place 1 in. apart on greased baking sheets. Sprinkle with cheese and garlic salt. Bake at 450° for 8-10 minutes or until golden brown. 1/4 cup grated Parmesan
1/3 cup grated Gruyere
1 teaspoon chopped fresh rosemary leaves
1 (11-ounce) container refrigerated breadstick dough (recommended: Pillsbury)
Finely ground sea salt, optional

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
  • Line 2 heavy large baking sheets with silicone baking sheets or parchment paper. In a food processor, chop the Parmesan, Gruyere and rosemary together until coarsely chopped. Set the cheese mixture aside. Separate the dough strips. Using a pizza cutter or a large sharp knife, cut each dough strip in half lengthwise to form thin strips. Working with dough strip at a time, coat each strip with the cheese mixture, pressing very gently. Twist each cheese covered dough strip and place onto prepared baking sheets. Sprinkle with the salt, if you wish.
  • Bake until the breadsticks are golden brown, about 10 to 15 minutes. Transfer the warm breadsticks to a basket and serve.

1/2 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
4 tablespoons butter or 4 tablespoons margarine, cut into small pieces
1/2 cup cheddar cheese or 1/2 cup monterey jack cheese, shredded
3 tablespoons sour cream or 3 tablespoons creme fraiche

Steps:

  • In food processor, combine the flour, salt, cayenne and baking powder.
  • Pulse several times to mix.
  • Add the butter and cheese, then pulse for about 30 seconds, or until the ingredients are well mixed (it should resemble slightly moist flour).
  • Add the sour cream and pulse on and off for about 1 minute, or until the ingredients come together as a moist, doughy clump.
  • Remove the dough from the food processor, form into a ball, then cover in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 2 hours.
  • Preheat oven to 425 degrees.
  • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper, or coat it with cooking spray.
  • On a lightly floured counter, roll out the dough into a large rectangle about 1/8-inch thick.
  • Trim the edges to create a neat rectangle.
  • Using a knife or a pizza cutter, cut the dough into strips 6 inches long and about 1/2 inch wide.
  • Combine the scraps and repeat with remaining dough to make about 18-24 sticks.
  • Gently twist each strip to create a spiral, then arrange them on the prepared baking sheet.
  • Bake for 8 minutes, or until lightly browned.
