FRIED BOLOGNA SANDWICH



Fried Bologna Sandwich image

This is a fried bologna sandwich that I had often growing up. I see so many of my favorite sandwiches on here, but I didn't see this one.

2 slices white bread
1 -2 slice bologna (depending on preference)
1/8 teaspoon oil
1 slice American cheese
1 tablespoon mustard

Steps:

  • Put oil in a frying pan and heat to med. high.
  • Put slit in bologna from middle to all the way through the end.
  • Put bologna in heated oil.
  • Brown both sides.
  • Add cheese to top while last side is browning.
  • Spread mustard on both sides of bread.
  • Add bologna between slices and gobble it up!

This is a great Beer drinking food! Also a low carb snack! Sometimes I use different vinegars, and I substitute the bologna with hot dogs!

1 lb bologna (trail or garlic, your choice of)
1 tablespoon crushed red pepper flakes or 1 tablespoon ground red pepper
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 garlic cloves, peeled (optional)
1 teaspoon sugar (optional) or 1 teaspoon Splenda sugar substitute (optional)
3/4 cup water
1 1/2 cups white vinegar

Steps:

  • Cut bologna in pieces to fit in jar.
  • Add garlic cloves,Pack tight.
  • Heat remaining ingredients until hot.
  • Fill jar with liquid ingredients.
  • Put lid on and refrigerate.
  • Should be ready the next day,the longer you wait,the better it is.

Garlic Flavored Bologna, Cheddar Cheese , Serrano Pepper Mayonnaise served on Toasted Sourdough Bread. A wonderful sandwich for lunch.

1/2 cup Hellmann's mayonnaise
3 tablespoons fresh parsley (Chopped)
2 tablespoons fresh thyme (Chopped)
2 teaspoons garlic powder (Chopped)
2 tablespoons serrano peppers (Chopped)
1 tablespoon spicy brown mustard
1 tablespoon honey mustard
1/4 teaspoon fine sea salt
1/4 teaspoon white pepper
8 slices sourdough bread (Toasted)
8 lettuce leaves (Green)
4 slices aged cheddar cheese
4 slices red Spanish onions
1/2 lb bologna (Boar's Head Garlic, sliced thin)
2 heirloom tomatoes (Sliced)
8 stuffed green olives
1 cup daikon radish (Sliced Thin)
3 tablespoons cilantro (Chopped)
2 tablespoons champagne vinegar
2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
2 kosher dill pickles (Sliced in Half)

Steps:

  • In a bowl whisk mayonnaise, fresh herbs, garlic powder, Serrano pepper, spicy mustard, honey mustard, sea salt and white pepper until combined.
  • Spread Serrano mayonnaise on toasted bread. Add lettuce leaves, cheese, red onion, Garlic bologna, tomato and lettuce. Slice sandwich in half and place on a plate.
  • Cucumber Salad.
  • in a bowl combine olives, cucumbers, daikon radish, cilantro, vinegar and whisk well. Add olive oil slow and whisk until combined. Season to taste with salt and white pepper. Place salad in small serving bowls.
  • Garnish plates with sliced Kosher Dill Pickles.
