The BEST Honey Butter is ridiculously easy to make and tastes amazing! With just 4 ingredients, this homemade honey butter recipe is perfectly sweet and creamy and is incredible smeared on cornbread, biscuits and homemade dinner rolls!

8 oz unsalted butter (room temperature)
1/4 cup honey
2 tbsp powdered sugar
1/4 tsp sea salt

Steps:

  • Place softened butter in a medium bowl or the bowl of your stand mixer. Using a hand mixer or stand mixer, beat the butter until smooth.
  • Add the remaining ingredients to the bowl and continue beating at medium speed, scraping down the sides of the bowl as needed, until the ingredients are fully incorporated and the butter is smooth.
  • Take a moment to taste the honey butter. Add more honey or salt if needed.
  • Serve immediately with additional honey and/or a sprinkle of sea salt OR transfer butter to a storage jar or airtight container and refrigerate for up to 2 weeks.

1 1/2 cups organic soy flour, plus 1/2 cup for topping
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup chilled organic butter (1 stick), cut into pieces, plus 3 tablespoons, softened
1/2 to 3/4 cup organic apple juice
1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
1/2 cup packed light-brown muscovado sugar
Honey Butter for Muscovado Soy Biscuits

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 400 degrees.with rack in center. In a medium bowl, sift together 1 1/2 cups flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Add 1/2 cup chilled butter; using a pastry blender or your hands, combine until mixture is crumbly. Stir in enough apple juice to form dough moist enough to drop from a spoon.
  • In a small bowl, stir together 1/2 cup flour, cinnamon, and sugar. Add remaining 3 tablespoons butter; mix until well combined.
  • Drop a heaping tablespoon of dough on a parchment-lined baking sheet; crumble 1/2 teaspoon of topping into center. Top with another heaping tablespoon of dough; sprinkle on 1/2 teaspoon of topping. Repeat with remaining ingredients, spacing 2 inches apart. Bake until lightly browned, about 10 minutes. Serve with honey butter.

1 cup all purpose flour (136 g)
1/2 tablespoon granulated sugar
2 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold & cut into pieces (113 g)
1/3 cup buttermilk (79 ml)
1/2 teaspoon cream of tartar
1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted (113 g)
1/3 cup honey (113 g)

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 400°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper then set aside.
  • In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, cream of tartar, and salt until combined.
  • Using a pastry cutter or fork, cut in the chilled butter until the mixture forms pea-sized crumbles.
  • Add in the buttermilk and stir until fully incorporated. This will be a moist sticky dough.
  • Drop the dough onto the prepared baking sheet by rounded tablespoonfuls. Keep the dough at least 1 1/2" apart on the baking sheet.
  • In a small bowl, whisk together melted butter and honey until combined.
  • Brush the tops of the biscuits with honey butter.
  • Bake for 10 to 12 minutes until they are golden brown and cooked through.
  • Remove from the oven and brush with remaining honey butter before serving.
