Homemade Reindeer Food

REINDEER FOOD

Steps:

• Cover a large area of counter space with waxed paper and tape it down.
• Mix pretzels, corn cereal squares, peanuts, and candy-coated milk chocolate pieces together in a large bowl.
• Melt white chocolate in the top of a double boiler over simmering water, stirring frequently and scraping down the sides with a rubber spatula to avoid scorching. Pour melted white chocolate over pretzel mixture; stir to evenly coat. Quickly transfer mixture to the prepared waxed paper and spread in a thin layer; cool completely. Break into pieces and store in an airtight container.

HOMEMADE REINDEER FOOD RECIPE

Steps:

• Add all the ingredients to a large bowl and mix. Just multiply the recipe for additional bags. Feel free to add any additional extras, just make sure they are things that can disappear by morning. (marshmallows are not a good idea, trust me)
• Print out Reindeer Food Printables for as many as you may need. There are two per page.
• Fill each bag with 1/2 cup reindeer food. Attach reindeer food labels to the baggies. I just stapled them closed.
• Adjust recipe to make more reindeer food to give as gifts or for more children.

REINDEER FOOD

Steps:

• Gather the ingredients.
• In a medium bowl, mix together rolled oats, red-colored sugar, and green-colored sugar until well incorporated.
• Transfer sugared oats to zip-topped plastic bags, adding more colored sugar for a festive effect.
• Tie with a ribbon and attach the following poem: Sprinkle this reindeer food outside tonight. The moonlight will make it sparkle bright. As the reindeer fly and roam This will guide them to your home.
• On Christmas Eve, hand each child a package of reindeer dust and let them untie the ribbon and sprinkle it on the lawn while reciting the poem. Then, all they have to do is wait!

REINDEER FOOD

Steps:

• Heat oven to 140C/120C fan/gas 1. Put all the ingredients (except the apricots, sultanas and sweets) in a large bowl. Stir everything well, then spread out onto two baking trays in an even layer. Put the tray in the oven for 40 mins.
• Leave the granola to cool on the tray, then break it up into small chunks and stir in the sultanas and apricots.
• Put the granola in a jar ready for breakfast. To make it suitable for magic reindeer, put a few spoonfuls into a small paper bag and mix in some sweets.
• Tie with string or a ribbon and add a fun label for Father Christmas to find.
