Steps:
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190 C).
- In a small bowl, combine French's Dijon Mustard and softened butter.
- Using a serrated knife, cut ¾-inch (2 cm) slices in the bread without cutting all the way through so the bottom of the loaf stays intact (similar to a Hasselback potato).
- Using about half the mixture, brush dijon butter between each bread slice. Reserve the rest of the butter for later.
- Stack a slice of ham on top of a slice of cheese, fold stack in half, and wedge it in between each bread slice so the cheese is against the bread. Repeat with remaining cheese and ham slices.
- Brush remaining dijon butter over loaf and top with shredded Gruyère.
- Wrap loaf in aluminum foil. Bake for 15 minutes, then unwrap the foil and bake for another 5 minutes. Remove from oven, garnish with chopped parsley, and serve immediately.
- Enjoy!

Steps:
- Preheat the oven to 425˚ F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Combine the butter and mustard in a bowl and mash with a spoon; season with salt and pepper.
- Trim the ends off the baguette. Cut the bread on an angle into 12 slices, leaving the bottom of the loaf intact. (You can position chopsticks along the long sides of the bread to keep from cutting all the way through the loaf.) Transfer to the baking sheet.
- Brush all but 2 tablespoons of the mustard butter between the bread slices. Fold each piece of ham in half or into quarters, then stuff into every other slice in the bread, starting with the first slice. Stuff a slice of brie into each piece of ham. Brush or rub the top and sides of the bread with the remaining mustard butter.
- Bake until the edges of the ham are crisp and the cheese has melted, about 18 minutes. Pull apart or slice into individual sandwiches. Sprinkle with the cornichons and chives.
PULL-APART HERB BREAD
THE INGREDIENTS for this recipe are so simple and the results so spectacular, I'm always willing to share the secret. It's actually a variation of a doughnut recipe I made years ago, using refrigerated biscuits. The best part of having this bread is tearing it apart and eating it warm. -Evelyn Kenney, Hamilton, New Jersey

GARLIC AND HERB PULL APART BREAD
This was fantastic with spaghetti, my family loved it... in fact my husband tried to eat the whole thing. Keep in mind though, we love garlic at our house. If you are not a fan of strong garlic, streamline the amount until you are comfortable with it.

Steps:
- In a small bowl, mix the warm water, yeast and 1 teaspoon of the sugar. Set aside for about 5 minutes until the mixture starts to thicken and bubble slightly. (If the mixture does not start to thicken and bubble slightly, the yeast is not working. Check the expiration date on the yeast and start over.)
- In the bowl of a stand mixer fitted with the paddle attachment, stir together the egg, oil, salt and remaining 1/2 cup sugar until well combined. Mix in the cold water followed by the boiling water. Add the yeast mixture to the mixing bowl and stir until well blended. Add the flour and stir until it comes together into a shaggy dough, about 1 minute. Replace the paddle attachment with the dough hook and continue to knead until mostly smooth, about 3 minutes.
- Add the garlic, 2 tablespoons of the parsley and 1 tablespoon of the chives to the dough. Continue to knead until the dough is smooth and elastic, another 3 minutes, adding in the extra 1/2 cup flour or more as needed so the dough isn't too sticky. Transfer the dough to a large, oiled bowl. Cover with plastic wrap and let it rise in a warm spot until doubled in size, about 3 hours.
- Line an 8-inch round cake pan or baking dish with a sheet of parchment, allowing the excess paper to hang over the edges of the pan. Place a 2-to-3-inch biscuit cutter, sharp side down, in the center of the pan or dish and set aside.
- Mix the melted butter with the remaining 2 tablespoons parsley and 1 tablespoon chives in a large bowl. Cut the dough into strips and then cut each strip into 1-inch pieces. Roll a piece into a ball and transfer it to the bowl with the butter, turning to coat completely. Transfer it to the cake pan. Repeat with the remaining dough and butter mixture, surrounding the biscuit cutter completely with the balls. Drizzle any remaining butter from the bowl over the top. Cover and let rise for 1 1/2 hours at room temperature.
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Sprinkle the balls with the Parmesan. Place the pan of dough onto a baking sheet and bake until the top is golden brown and crisp, 35 to 40 minutes. Remove from the oven and let rest for 5 minutes.
- While the bread is resting, in a small saucepan, heat the marinara and half-and-half until it is warm. Transfer to a bowl for dipping. Transfer the bread to a serving platter with the side sprinkled with Parmesan facing up. Remove the biscuit cutter. Serve immediately with the creamy tomato dipping sauce.

Steps:
- For the dough: stir the yeast and 1 teaspoon honey into 1 cup warm water (100 to 110 degrees F). Let sit until bubbly, about 5 minutes. In a mixer fitted with the paddle attachment, combine the eggs and yolks, olive oil, salt, remaining 1/4 cup honey and the yeast mixture. Mix on low until combined. Add 4 cups flour on low speed, 1 cup at a time, and mix to form a smooth, wet dough. Switch to the dough hook and knead on medium-high, adding up to 1/2 cup more flour to make a slightly sticky dough that forms a ball around the hook, 4 to 5 minutes. Form the dough into a ball, place in a large bowl and lightly coat in olive oil. Cover with plastic wrap and let rise until doubled in size, about 1 1/2 hours.
- For the filling: Meanwhile, stir together the chocolate, butter, pecans, sugar, cinnamon and salt in a medium bowl to make a chunky paste.
- Butter a 10-inch round cake pan and set aside. When the dough has risen, punch it down and roll with a lightly floured rolling pin on a well-floured work surface into a 24-by-16-inch rectangle (about 1/4-inch thick). Use a 3 1/2-inch round cutter to cut out as many circles as you can from the dough. Fill each circle to the edge with about 1 tablespoon filling and fold in half, then in half again, so it looks like a quarter of a circle. Pinch the tip of the dough so that the rounded edge opens slightly. Arrange pieces, pinched-side down, in a circle around the edge of the pan with some space between the pieces and the chocolate filling showing at the top. Arrange 2 more circles in the pan, ending with one piece in the center. Cover with plastic wrap and let rise until almost doubled, about 30 minutes.
- Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F. Brush the risen dough with beaten egg and bake until golden and the center of the bread registers about 180 degrees F on an instant-read thermometer (avoid touching the pan), 30 to 35 minutes. Cool in the pan on a rack for 10 minutes, then remove and serve warm.
CRUNCHY CHEESE AND HERB PULL-APART BREAD
Yummy pull-apart bread that was part of a county fair baking competition. It is baked in an angel pan and is delicious sliced and toasted. Slice it thin and use it for sandwiches. I make a double batch and slice it and freeze it with 2 slices to a baggie. Then take it out and thaw it and toast it. It won't stay in our house.

Steps:
- Place the yeast in a large mixing bowl. Mix in the warm water and honey and set aside in a warm spot for about 10 minutes, or until the yeast is dissolved and begins bubbling. (If the yeast does not bubble it is probably dead. Begin again, using fresh yeast.) Gradually sift the flour and salt into the yeast mixture, stirring constantly until the dough begins to pull away from the sides of the bowl.
- Sprinkle some flour over a working surface and gently knead the dough for several minutes. Cut the dough in half and roll out one half into a rectangle (like a rectangular pizza) about 14 inches by 10 inches. Brush the dough with 1 1/2 tablespoons of the olive oil. Scatter half the ham over the surface, pressing it gently into the dough. Sprinkle half the cheese on top and scatter half the herbs and a generous grinding of fresh black pepper over the dough. Using your hands, gently roll the dough lengthwise, into the shape of a long cigar. Lightly seal the edges of the dough. Place in a well greased French bread pan (or on a well-greased cookie sheet) and cover with a clean tea towel.
- Make the second loaf.
- Preheat the oven to 450 degrees F.
- Place the two loaves of bread in a dry warm spot and let them sit, covered, for 15 minutes.
- Just before baking, lightly brush the loaves with the remaining 1 tablespoon of olive oil. Place in the middle shelf of the hot oven and bake 20 to 25 minutes, or until the bread has a golden brown crust and sounds hollow when tapped on the bottom.

Steps:
- Heat gas or charcoal grill. Spray 25x18-inch sheet of heavy-duty foil with cooking spray. Without cutting all the way through, cut loaf of bread into 12 (3/4-inch) slices, cutting to within 1/4 inch of bottom.
- Stir together butter and mustard. Spread every other slice of bread with slightly less than 2 teaspoons mustard mixture, creating 6 sandwiches. Fold each slice of cheese in half diagonally; tuck each into sandwich. Divide ham evenly among sandwiches, tucking in to fit. Place loaf on center of foil. Seal edges, making tight 1/2-inch fold; fold again, allowing space for heat circulation and expansion.
- Place foil-wrapped loaf on grill over medium heat. Cover grill; cook 20 to 25 minutes or until cheese is melted and loaf is hot, turning loaf frequently. To serve, open packet carefully to allow steam to escape. Remove foil from loaf; pull apart sandwiches.
- High Altitude (3500-6500 ft): Heat gas or charcoal grill for indirect cooking. For two-burner gas grill, heat one burner to medium; place packet on unheated side. For one-burner gas grill, cook over very low heat. For charcoal grill, move medium coals to edge; place packet in center of grill. Cover grill; cook 20 to 30 minutes, rotating and turning packet over every 5 minutes.
