BUTTERMILK TEA BISCUITS

Buttermilk Tea Biscuits image

Another oldie but goodie. Nice and light. I am sure everyone knows that in lieu of buttermilk, you can use "sour milk" (1 Tbsp of vinegar or lemon juice in a 1-cup measure and fill with milk). This recipe makes about 15 to 18 good-sized bisuits. If you are serving these with a soup or stew, they are really nice with a bit of cayenne pepper added with the dry ingredients. Gives them a bit of a bite. I hope you enjoy them.

OLD-FASHIONED BUTTERMILK BISCUITS

Old-Fashioned Buttermilk Biscuits image

Southerners know their biscuits and we loved these. These homemade buttermilk biscuits are the easiest we've ever made. They are very light and fluffy, almost air-like. As they're baking, the smell is amazing. A big smear of butter and these are melt in your mouth good. Top with your favorite jam. Sausage gravy wouldn't be too...

CHEF JOHN'S BUTTERMILK BISCUITS

Chef John's Buttermilk Biscuits image

This deceptively simple recipe can come out a million different ways with some very minor variations on the ingredients and amounts. This one's my favorite - flaky, but not dry; chewy, but not tough; crisp in just the right spots.

Number Of Ingredients 7

2 cups all-purpose flour

GRANDMA'S BAKING POWDER BISCUITS

Grandma's Baking Powder Biscuits image

This is my grandmother's biscuit recipe. It is my all-time favorite and has a really good flavor to it. Be sure not to roll out too thin, you want high biscuits! I usually just pat out the dough to the desired thickness, usually 1/2 inch.
