GARLIC & HERB CHEDDAR "BAE" BISCUITS

Garlic & Herb Cheddar

This is based off my original Flaky Buttermilk Biscuit recipe.

Provided by Resha from CarnalDish

Time 30m

Number Of Ingredients 23

3/4 cup COLD buttermilk (full-fat)
1/4 cup COLD heavy cream
2 tbsp sour cream (optional)
1 large egg
1 tbsp honey
2 cloves garlic, minced
2 tbsp parsley, chopped
1 tbsp dried basil
1/4 tsp granulated garlic
1/4 tsp granulated onion
pinch hot paprika (or regular/sweet)
2 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
1 1/2 tsp salt
2 1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp granulated onion
1/2 tsp granulated garlic
1 stick FROZEN unsalted butter, grated
1 cup extra-sharp cheddar cheese, grated
1/2 stick butter, melted and still warm
pinch of salt
1 tbsp parsley, chopped
1 clove garlic, minced
pinch of granulated garlic and granulated onion

Steps:

  • Pre-heat oven to 400 degrees.
  • Combine all wet ingredients. Keep COLD.
  • Combine all dry ingredients. Keep COLD.
  • Combine both wet and dry ingredients until dough forms. Dough should be slightly wet and sticky but stiff enough to hold a peak. Pop dough into the freezer for about 5 minutes.
  • Remove from freezer, and drop biscuits using 2 spoons onto a silpat or parchment lined baking sheet. This dough will make 8 large or 12 regular sized biscuits.
  • Bake until golden brown on middle-rack for 12-15 minutes.
  • Brush immediately with warm garlic & herb butter.
  • Get your life.

GARLIC HERB BUTTER

Garlic Herb Butter image

Stuff this under the skin of a chicken with extra garlic, use it for garlic bread, a small disc in the center of a hamburger, or use as a "condiment" for fish and seafood. Adapted from "How to Grill" by Raichlen. You've got to check that book out.

Categories     Low Protein

Time 5m

Yield 1 stick

Number Of Ingredients 6

4 tablespoons butter, room temperature
1 garlic clove, minced
1/2 teaspoon fresh ground black pepper
1 teaspoon parsley
1 1/2 tablespoons basil
1 tablespoon oregano

Steps:

  • Beat all ingredients together with a fork until light and fluffy.
  • Place on plastic wrap and roll into a log.
  • Twist ends of plastic wrap to"seal" butter inches.
  • Store in freezer, and cut off discs of butter as needed.
  • You can store this in the fridge, but beware it will not last as long if you use fresh ingredients.
  • Try adding chives, rosemary, or tarragon.

PARMESAN HERB DROP BISCUITS

Parmesan Herb Drop Biscuits image

Provided by Ree Drummond : Food Network

Categories     side-dish

Time 30m

Yield 6 biscuits

Number Of Ingredients 10

1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 heaping tablespoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
Pinch of garlic powder
1 stick (1/2 cup) salted butter, cold, cut into small pieces, plus 2 tablespoons, melted, for brushing
1/2 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
1 tablespoon fresh flat-leaf parsley, chopped
1 teaspoon fresh oregano, chopped
1 teaspoon fresh thyme, chopped
3/4 cup whole milk

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F and prepare a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Put the flour, baking powder, salt and garlic powder in a food processor and pulse a few times to combine. Add the cold butter and pulse until the dry ingredients and the butter are mostly combined. (If you do not have a food processor, this can be done with a pastry cutter.)
  • Add the Parmesan, parsley, oregano and thyme. Drizzle in the milk and pulse (or stir in with a wooden spoon) until the mixture has just turned into a dough. Be careful not to overmix, as the biscuits will become tough when baked if you do.
  • Using 2 large spoons, drop 1/2-cup sized balls of dough onto the prepared baking sheet. This will make 6 generously sized biscuits.
  • Bake until golden brown, about 20 minutes, depending on your oven. Brush the warm biscuits with the melted butter. Enjoy!
