HOMEMADE HAMBURGER HELPER
Make the cheesy pasta dish of your cravings with this easy Homemade Hamburger Helper recipe! Pasta and ground beef are sautéed and covered in a creamy tomato & cheese sauce.

- In a large sauté pan with a lid, brown the ground beef over medium high heat. Remove cooked ground beef from pan and set aside, reserving 2 tablespoons of grease in the pan.
- Cook the onion until soft, about 5 minutes. Add the garlic for the last 30 seconds.
- Add the flour and stir to cook for about 1 minute, slowly stir in the beef broth and bring the mixture to a boil.
- Pour in the tomato sauce, Italian seasoning, seasoned salt, smoked paprika, garlic powder and pasta, stirring to combine. Cover with lid and sauté for 12 to 15 minutes or until pasta is cooked, stirring occasionally.
- Add in the cream and cheese and stir until all the cheese melted. Add back in ground beef, cook for 2 to 3 minutes more to re-heat ground beef and serve immediately!

DELUXE CHEESY TOMATO HAMBURGER HELPER SKILLET
Hamburger Helper has never tasted so good! For this use only the Cheeseburger Macaroni flavor. I sometimes save the pasta packet for another use and use penne pasta instead but the the choice is yours! Serve this with crusty rolls on the side or garlic bread.

Steps:
- Chop the bacon into small pieces then fry in a large skillet until crisp; remove to a plate (you can drain fat but leave some in the skillet).
- To the skillet add in ground beef with onions and bell pepper; cook unto no longer pink, drain fat.
- Add in garlic and dried chili flakes (if using) and cook the beef over medium heat until browned (this might take about 15 minutes).
- Season with seasoned salt and black pepper.
- Return the chopped cooked bacon back to the skillet, then add in the stewed tomatoes with juice, undiluted tomato soup; mix and bring to a simmer over medium heat.
- Add in only the seasoning pouch (you will boil the macaroni separately) mix and simmer uncovered over medium-low heat for 45 minutes to 1 hour, stirring occasionally.
- If you prefer a thinner sauce then add in water and simmer for another 10-15 minutes.
- Boil the macaroni pasta in a separate pot then add/mix into the sauce mixture after the 40 minutes of cooking.
- Season with more black pepper if desired, then mix in grated cheddar cheese until melted.
- Ladle in bowls then sprinkle more cheddar cheese on top.

- Brown hamburger in large skillet with onion, drain fat.
- Stir in water, gravy mix, poultry seasoning, salt and pepper.
- Bring to simmer, stirring until thickened.
- Stir in veggies, heat through.
- Sprinkle with as much cheese as you wish, cover till melted.
- Remove from heat and serve over mashed potatoes.

We like Hamburger Helper but we don't like the MSG or other icky ingredients! You can prepare "sauce packets" ahead of time to save time. Increase/alter seasonings and/or cheese to suit your tastes!

- Brown ground beef in a large skillet. Drain.
- Add hot water, milk, pasta and "sauce packet" ingredients.
- Bring to a boil, cover, reduce heat and simmer 12 minutes or until pasta is tender.
- In the last few minutes of cook time, add cheese, stir and re-cover.
- When pasta is tender and cheese is melted, remove heat and uncover.
- Let stand about 5 minutes. Sauce will thicken as it stands.
- Top with additional cheese if you like.
