2 tablespoons olive oil
1 onion, diced
1 clove garlic, minced
1 (14.5 ounce) can Italian-style diced tomatoes, undrained
1 tablespoon dried basil leaves
¾ teaspoon white sugar
¼ teaspoon dried oregano
¼ teaspoon salt
⅛ teaspoon ground black pepper
½ cup heavy cream
1 tablespoon butter

Steps:

  • In a saucepan, saute onion and garlic in olive oil over medium heat. Make sure it doesn't burn. Add tomatoes, basil, sugar, oregano, salt and pepper. Bring to boil and continue to boil 5 minutes or until most of the liquid evaporates. Remove from heat; stir in whipping cream and butter. Reduce heat and simmer 5 more minutes.

  • Cook the fettuccine according to instructions. Drain the fettuccine once cooked.

This is not spicy! For a main dish I have added the Imitation crabmeat to this before and served over linguini. You can add any kind of seafood or even chicken and serve over pasta. Or for a side dish you can serve without meat and mix the sauce over the pasta. Try adding a variety of veggies! Possibilites are plenty!

1/2 cup diced onion
3 teaspoons garlic, minced
1/2 teaspoon savory
3/4 teaspoon rosemary

1/4 cup white wine
1 can tomato sauce (1 cup)
2 cups half-and-half
1/2 cup parmesan cheese

Steps:

  • Saute onions and garlic and seasonings (savory, rosemary, salt, pepper, bay leaf, Blackened Redfish Seas) in butter and olive oil.

4 cloves garlic, minced
1 medium onion, finely diced
Two 15-ounce cans tomato sauce or marinara sauce
Dash of sugar (or more to taste)
Salt and freshly ground black pepper
1 1/2 pounds fettuccine
1 cup heavy cream
Grated Parmesan or Romano, as needed
Chopped fresh basil, for serving

Steps:

  • Heat the butter and oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the garlic and onions and saute for a minute or so. Pour in the tomato sauce, add sugar, salt and pepper to taste and stir. Cook over low heat for 25 to 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • Cook the pasta according to the package directions. Drain, reserving 1 cup of pasta water.
  • Remove the sauce from the heat and stir in the cream. Add cheese to taste, then check the seasoning. Stir in the pasta and thin with a little pasta water if needed. Add the chopped basil and serve immediately.

2 tbsp / 30g unsalted butter
3 garlic cloves (, minced)
½ onion (, finely chopped)
1 cup / 250 ml tomato passata (/ tomato puree (Note 1))
3/4 cup / 185 ml heavy / thickened cream ((Note 2 for subs))
1/2 cup / 125 ml milk (, low fat)
3/4 cup / 30g parmesan (, finely freshly grated (Note 3))
1 tsp dried basil, or other herb of choice
1 tsp chicken or vegetable stock powder (, or 1 bouillon cube, crumbled (Note 4))
Finely ground pepper + salt

Steps:

  • Cook pasta in a big pot of boiling water for time per packet MINUS 2 minutes. Just before draining, scoop out a mugful of pasta cooking water.
  • Melt butter in large skillet over medium heat. Add garlic and onion, cook until translucent - about 2 minutes.
  • Add remaining ingredients. Stir until parmesan is melted. Turn heat up slightly and simmer for 2 minutes. Adjust salt to taste.
  • Add pasta. Toss for 1 to 2 minutes or until sauce thickens and is clinging to pasta instead of swimming on the base of the skillet (video shows this well). Use reserved pasta cooking water if required to thin the sauce out if it gets too thick.
  • Serve immediately, garnished with more parmesan and parsley if desired.

1 (400 g) can chopped tomatoes with juice
1/2 cup cream
1/4 cup parmesan cheese
1 garlic clove
100 g shredded bacon
1 tablespoon olive oil
500 g fettuccine pasta

Steps:

  • 1. Cook fettucine as directed
  • 2. Crush and chop garlic clove finely.
  • 3. Heat oil in a frying pan on medium-high, add garlic and bacon and cook until they start to brown.
  • 4. Add tin of tomatoes to the frying pan and stir.
  • 5. Reduce heat to medium and simmer for 15 minutes.
  • 6. Reduce to low heat and add cream.
  • 7. Stir until cream is fully mixed inches.
  • 8. Stir parmesan cheeses into the sauce.

3/4 cup heavy whipping cream

Steps:

  • Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook the pasta until al dente according to package directions. Reserve a cup of pasta water before draining. While the pasta cooks, make the sauce.
  • Add the butter, onion and red pepper flakes (if using) to a large skillet over medium-hight heat and cook for about 5-7 minutes until the onion is translucent. Add the tomatoes and garlic and cook for another 2-3 minutes, or until the tomatoes are soft.
  • Reduce heat to medium, and pour in the tomato sauce and heavy cream. Season with salt and pepper. Stir and then simmer for about 5 minutes.
  • Mix in the parmesan cheese until melted, then add the cooked pasta. Mix until the sauce coats the pasta. Let the pasta simmer in the sauce for a couple minutes. As it simmers, you may need to add pasta water to thin out the sauce. Start with 1/4 cup of pasta water and add more as needed. Stir in the fresh basil and serve immediately.
  • Garnish the pasta with freshly grated parmesan cheese and fresh basil.

  • Bring a pot of salted water to a boil. Boil the pasta according to package instructions and drain all the water with the exception of 1.5 cups.
  • Add in a 2 tbsp of butter to a large oven proof pan. Add in the sliced onion and a sprinkle of salt. The salt helps the juices come out of the onions. After 10 minutes, add in 1/2 a cup of water and increase heat to high.This picks up all the delicious bits from the bottom and softens the onions. Keep doing this until they get to a nice and dark color. This will usually take about 15 minutes.
  • Once the correct onion color is achieved, turn the heat own to medium and add in red pepper flakes, sun-dried tomatoes and garlic. Sweat for 2 minutes.
