Steps:
- Cream butter and sugar together well.
- Beat in egg and vanilla.
- Stir flour, soda and salt together and add.
- Mix well Drop by teaspoon onto greased cookie sheet.
- Bake in 350 degree oven for 6-8 minutes.
- Makes about 4 dozen.

COMPANY'S COMING GREEN BEANS
This is a favorite recipe given to me by my best friend. It makes an impressive looking dish and it's also really, good. We always serve it at holidays. It's easily adjusted to serve more people.

Steps:
- Put walnut halves on a cookie sheet and roast them in a 300 degree oven until lightly toasted.
- Remove from the oven and allow to cool.
- Cut the ends off the green beans and remove any strings.
- Place the green beans in a saucepan with 1 teaspoon salt.
- Cover with water.
- Bring to a boil over medium high heat and cook for about 5-10 minutes or until just tender-crisp.
- Remove from heat and drain well.
- Put olive oil into a large skillet and saute bell pepper which has been cut into narrow strips& onion which is cut into thin rings.
- Add garlic to oil mixture.
- Put drained green beans into oil mixture and stir until heated through.
- Add salt& pepper to taste.
- Just before serving, stir roasted walnut halves into the green bean mixture.
- Dish up into a serving bowl or platter and enjoy!

- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- Bottom layer:.
- Combine all three ingredients in a bowl.
- Mix well until crumbly.
- Press into ungreased 9x9 inch pan.
- Bake in oven for 15 minutes.
- Filling:.
- Spoon jam in small dabs here and there over bottom layer.
- Spread carefully.
- Top Layer:.
- Beat eggs until frothy.
- Add sugar, coconut, vanilla, baking powder, and flour.
- Stir to combine well. Spread over jam layer.
- Bake in 350 degree oven for 25 to 35 minutes, until golden brown.
- Cool.
- Cuts into 36 squares.
- These can also be made into yummy little tarts by replacing the bottom layer with unbaked pastry shells.
