CHRISTMAS SCENT
This makes an excellent gift. Make sure you make some for yourself too though because it really smells wonderful. Please note, you need to use whole cloves. Ground cloves are much stronger and will definitely overwhelm the other scents. If you aren't a fan of cloves, feel free to leave them out entirely. I do sometimes.

Steps:
- Add orange and lemon slices to dry mixture of spices. Put in a small sauce pan with 4 cups of water. Simmer on low to release the fragrance. Or, you can simmer it in a mini (2 qt.) crock pot with the lid off for a safer alternative.
- IF you simmer it for a few hours, you will need to add more water occasionally so it doesn't boil dry. Store in refrigerator when not in use, to prevent molding. It can be simmered over and over again! Always add more water to equal 4 cups before each use.
- TO GIVE AS A GIFT: put ingredients in a quart-sized decorative jar. Add enough water to fill jar. Add a few drops of red food coloring if desired. Close securely and give with a small gift tag explaining how to use it.
- Note, I prefer to use the lesser amount of cloves so that they don't overwhelm the other fragrances.

CAJUN CHRISTMAS SCENT

TOP 10 BRITISH CHRISTMAS FOODS - BSC (EN)
From british-study.com
- Turkey. This one is probably one of the most popular dishes at Christmas because it is usually the main course! Other popular dishes include ham or roast beef, but in the UK, turkey is definitely the main course of choice.
- Roast Potatoes. There is nothing like scoop of properly roasted potatoes! These are often cut into small squares, and put into the oven with goose fat or olive oil, along with herbs such as parsley and thyme, and salt and pepper.
- Stuffing. Stuffing is another dish that can vary from region to region. Interestingly, in North America, chestnut stuffing is a popular choice (chestnut puree is stirred into the mixture of onions, breadcrumbs, butter, and other herbs) while in Britain, herb stuffing is a more traditional choice, with large quantities of rosemary or thyme added to similar ingredients.
- Pigs in Blankets. Pigs in blankets are another quintessentially British part of Christmas dinner! These are small sausages that are wrapped in bacon, and often surround the turkey when it is served.
- Yorkshire Pudding. Yorkshire pudding originates from England, and is made from a batter that includes eggs, milk, and flour. It’s usually eaten with the roast turkey, but once in awhile (aside from Christmas) it can be served as a dessert!
- Gravy. Gravy is actually a type of sauce that comes from the drippings of the turkey when it is cooked. Then the drippings are mixed with wheat flour to make it thicker, as well as salt and pepper, and finally poured over the slices of turkey and stuffing.
- Cranberry Sauce. Cranberry sauce is another type of sauce that is made from, yes: cranberries! Though it often accompanies Thanksgiving dinner in North America, it is a popular sauce for Christmas dinner here in Britain.
- Brussel Sprouts. This polarizing vegetable is a key part of a traditional British Christmas dinner. Even though many people dislike brussel sprouts (they can have a slightly bitter taste) they can always be found on the table at Christmas!
- Christmas Pudding. Christmas pudding is a dessert that is made from dried fruit and is normally served with brandy butter. It is also tradition to soak the cake with brandy and set it alight before serving.
- Mince Pies. Mince pies are tiny pies that are filled with fruits such as raisins, cranberries, and sultanas, as well as chopped nuts and spices such as cinnamon, sugar, and nutmeg.

From supersavvyme.co.uk
- Christmas trees. Who doesn’t love the fresh pine scent of a lush, green Christmas tree? It brings back memories of festive family moments and conjures up images of sparkly Christmas lights, happy carollers and of course, Christmas presents!
- Snow. Crisp, clean and so bitingly cold that it makes you clench your teeth, the smell of snow is one of the best things about winter. The wet, slushy stuff may not be much fun, but there’s just something about its fresh, cold scent that makes us turn our faces to the sky and sniff at the air.
- Hot chocolate. There’s nothing like the sweet, comforting scent of hot chocolate to warm the bones on a cold day. The deliciously chocolatey smell of it is like a snuggly blanket for your senses – it’s bound to cheer up even the grumpiest Grinch.
- Gingerbread. Men, cookies, houses… why can’t everything be made out of gingerbread? That fresh out of the oven gingerbread scent – sweet, buttery, gingery, spicy – is simply irresistible and always draws a crowd.
- Open fire. A crackling, roaring fire on a cold, snowy night has to be the definition of bliss. Woody, smoky and warm, the scent of an open fire invites you to hold your palms out to share its warmth while you breathe in its hot, comforting smell.
- Roast chestnuts. No Christmas fair is complete without the scent of roasting chestnuts wafting through the air. Sweet and nutty with that unmistakable hot charcoal scent, these steaming morsels smell like a good ol’ fashioned Christmas.
- Christmas cake and Christmas pudding. Love ‘em or hate ‘em, the fruity, spicy aromas of Christmas cakes and Christmas puddings are as Christmassy as Santa’s red and white suit.
- Cinnamon. The sweet, hot spiciness of cinnamon is a festive ingredient in all things Christmas. Whether it’s in mulled wine, cookies or eggnog, its warm, inviting scent makes everything seem cosier and merrier – perfect for those cold winter nights.
- Oranges and cloves. This fruity, spicy, festive scent combination is as traditional as they come. The intoxicating aroma of clove-studded oranges instantly brightens up those long winter nights, and it does wonders to freshen up a cold, stuffy space.
- Wet clothes. Brrr… the smell of wet clothes is enough to make anyone shiver! Damp, musty and increasingly stinky, the odour of sodden sweaters seem to linger on, much like your mother-in-law on Christmas Day.
