Chex Marries Popcorn Food

CHEX MIX POPCORN

Steps:

• Preheat oven to 250°F.
• Combine seasoned salt, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, and pinch of chili powder or cayenne (if using) in a spice grinder. Pulse and grind into a fine powder.
• Pop popcorn in a microwave, on the stovetop, or with an air popper. Place popped popcorn in a large bowl.
• Melt butter in the microwave and stir in Worcestershire sauce until well combined.
• Drizzle Worcestershire and butter mixture over the popcorn in the bowl.
• Take a sheet pan and place it over the mouth of the bowl. Carefully pick up the bowl and sheet pan together and shake and toss vigorously to evenly coat the popcorn with the butter mixture.
• Remove the sheet pan from on top of the bowl, sprinkle 1 TBSP of the powder over the popcorn. Replace the sheet pan over the bowl and shake again to evenly distribute.
• Flip the sheet pan and bowl over so that the sheet pan is flat on the counter with the bowl upside down on top of it. Remove the bowl and spread the popcorn into an even layer.
• Bake the popcorn for 5-7 minutes in the oven, stirring occasionally so that it all dries evenly.
• Transfer popcorn back into the bowl and serve immediately.

CHEX® POPCORN-PRETZEL CHUNK

Steps:

• Spray very large microwavable bowl with cooking spray. Mix cereal, popcorn and pretzel crackers in bowl.
• In medium microwavable bowl, microwave marshmallow creme and butter uncovered on High about 1 minute, stirring after 30 seconds, until creme and butter are melted and can be stirred smooth.
• Stir, pour over cereal mixture, stirring until evenly coated. Microwave uncovered on High 2 to 3 minutes, stirring every minute, until mixture is glazed. Cool 5 minutes; stir in candies. Spread on waxed paper to cool. Break into chunks. Store covered.

CARAMEL POPCORN AND CHEX MIX

Steps:

• 1. Coat 17 x 11 x 2-inch baking pan with cooking spray. Combine cereal, popcorn, pretzels and peanuts (if desired). Set aside.
• 2. In heavy 3-quart saucepan combine brown sugar, butter and corn syrup. Bring to boiling over medium heat, stirring constantly. Reduce heat. Simmer for 5 minutes, stirring constantly. Remove from heat. Stir in vanilla and baking soda. Immediately pour over cereal mixture. Stir until evenly coated.
• 3. Bake at 250°F about 1 hour or until deep golden brown, stirring every 15 minutes. Spread on wax paper. Separate clumps. Cool completely. Store in airtight container.

CHEX MARRIES POPCORN

Steps:

• Heat oven to 250 degrees F.
• Line roasting pan with foil.
• Mix first 3 ingredients in a large roasting pan.
• Heat remaining ingredients in 2 quart pan over med heat,stir frequently,until all is incorparated and sugar is dissolved.
• Pour over chex mixture until evenly coated.
• Bake uncovered 45 minutes.
• Stir every 15 minutes or so.
• Spread on wax paper and cool.
• Stir to break up.
