Ingredients

1 cup sugar
1/4 cup fresh lime juice, plus lime wheels, for garnish
3 drops green food coloring
4 ounces grenadine
12 ounces club soda, chilled
2 to 4 maraschino cherries

Steps:

Add the sugar, lime juice and 3/4 cup water to a small saucepan and bring to a boil, stirring until the sugar dissolves. Add the green food coloring, remove from the heat and let cool.
Into 2 chilled highball glasses, add to each glass: a few ice cubes and 2 ounces of the lime syrup. Divide the grenadine between the glasses, then top off each with club soda. Garnish with a lime wheel and maraschino cherries.

1 (2 liter) bottle carbonated lemon-lime beverage (Sierra Mist)
0.5 (12 ounce) can frozen limeade concentrate, thawed just a bit (store brand)
0.5 (12 ounce) can frozen cherry limeade (store brand) or 0.5 (12 ounce) can frozen raspberry limeade, thawed just a bit (store brand)
crushed ice, as needed
1 lime, sliced

Steps:

Place one teaspoonful of frozen limeade in each of 6 glasses. We also like to mix the flavors, a little limeade and a little cherry or raspberry to make it less sour.
Recover frozen limeade cans and store in freezer for future use.
Add crushed ice to each glass, to the top.
Pour lemon-lime soda in each glass, pouring on the side of the glass to keep it fizzy. Do NOT stir. Leave the limeade flavoring on the bottom so it will look pretty and taste great.

Sounds also like a great Christmas Day - or any other festive occasion - drink and particularly a welcome cooling drink on a hot day, whether it's served at a BBQ or indoors!

Ingredients

565 g lychees in heavy syrup
3 limes, quartered
1 tablespoon sugar
750 ml dry sparkling wine, chilled
extra lime slice, to decorate

Steps:

Drain the lychees and reserve the syrup; set aside six lychees for decoration.
Place the remaining lychees, limes and sugar into a large ziplock bag; crush with a meat mallet or rolling pin until the fruit turns pulpy; strain the juices into a large jug; add the reserved syrup; cover and refrigerate.
Just before serving, add the sparkling wine; pour into champagne glasses; decorate with the extra lime slices and a lychee, and serve.
