1 lb Italian sausage, hot
1 cup green pepper (thinly sliced, approximately 2" long)
1 cup red pepper (thinly sliced, approximately 2" long)
3/4 cup white onion (chopped)
6 oz. mushrooms (chopped)
4 oz spiral noodles
4 oz shell noodles
4 oz wheel noodles
1 & 1/2 tsp. Italian seasoning
1/4 tsp. oregano
1/8 tsp. garlic powder
1 pinch red pepper flakes
1/8 tsp. ground black pepper
1/2 tsp. salt
48 oz. spaghetti sauce (Prego is best)
8 oz. pepperoni slices
5 oz. Parmesan cheese (shredded)
8 oz mozzarella cheese (shredded)

Steps:

  • Mise en place. Brown ground Italian sausage until 90% cooked. Drain. Press out excess grease with a paper towel if desired.
  • Add peppers, onions, and mushrooms and cook for another 2 minutes, stirring often. Add sauce and spices. Bring to a slight boil. Remove from heat. Set aside.
  • Cook pastas according to package directions. Rinse in cool water. Drain. Set aside.
  • Spray a 9" x 13" casserole dish (glass is best with this recipe) with non-stick spray. Layer 1/3 of the pasta, spoon on 1/3 of sauce. Top with 1/3 of the pepperoni and then 1/3 of the cheese.
  • Repeat layers: pasta, sauce, pepperoni, cheese.
  • Bake at 350° for 45 minutes or until mixture is bubbly and cheese is melted. Check after 30 minutes and cover if browning too quickly.

8 ounces mozzarella cheese (shredded)
1/2 pound hamburger (browned)
8 ounces Parmesan cheese (shredded)
1/2 pound Italian sausage (browned)
32 ounces spaghetti sauce

Steps:

  • Cook noodles according to box directions.
  • Heat sauce and combine with cooked hamburger and cooked sausage. In a 11 X 13 pan, sprayed with Pam cooking spray, layer noodles and sauce.
  • Top layer with pepperoni, onions and green peppers, and cheeses. Make about 3 layers and top with cheese. Bake at 350 degrees for about 45 minutes or until cheese is melted.

Oh, this recipe brings back so many memories! My cousin and I spent many a night enjoying Pizza Hut cavatini and this is a dead ringer! I can't wait to prepare it again for my family.

3 large green bell peppers
2 large onions, diced
2 oz (1/2) stick, margerine
1 tsp garlic powder
1 lb assorted pastas (wheels, shells, spirals, ziti)
6 oz pepperoni, sliced thin, then cut in half
8 oz parmesan cheese, shredded
8 oz mozzarella cheese, shredded
3/4 lb hamburger, browned
1/2 lb italian sausage, browned
1 1/2 jar(s) (32 oz.total) meat flavored prego sauce, 1 jar traditional, 1/2 jar marinara

Steps:

  • 1. Melt margarine over medium high heat in a skillet. Add onions, peppers, and garlic powder. Sauté for about 4 minutes. Meanwhile, cook pasta according to box directions. Heat sauce and combine with cooked hamburger and cooked sausage. Use cooking spray to lightly grease an 11 X 13 casserole dish. Make about 2 layers Place 1/2 of the cooked pasta in the dish, followed by 1/2 the vegetables, 1/2 of the pepperoni, and 1/2 sauce, meat mixture. Repeat another layer. Spread mozzarella and parmesan cheese over top. Bake at 350 degrees for about 45 minutes or until cheese is melted.

Steps:

  • Brown Sausage,Hamburger,Onion, Pepperoni, and Mushrooms.
  • Drain Fat.
  • Mix in all other ingredients except Cheese and Noodle.
  • Cook Noodles in large amount of water.
  • Drain.
  • Place Noodles in greased 9x13in.

2 pounds ground beef
2 medium onions, chopped
1 medium green pepper, chopped
6 garlic cloves, minced
4 cups water
1 can (12 ounces) tomato paste
1 can (4 ounces) mushroom stems and pieces, drained
1 package (3-1/2 ounces) sliced pepperoni
2 envelopes spaghetti sauce mix
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
PASTA:
8 cups water
1 cup each uncooked elbow macaroni, bow tie pasta and medium pasta shells
2 cups shredded part-skim mozzarella cheese

Steps:

  • In a Dutch oven, cook the beef, onions and pepper over medium heat until meat is no longer pink; drain. Add garlic; cook 1 minute longer. Stir in the water, tomato paste, mushrooms, pepperoni, sauce mix and Italian seasoning. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat; simmer, uncovered, for 1 hour., Meanwhile, for pasta, bring water to a boil in a large saucepan. Add macaroni and pastas. Return to a boil, stirring occasionally. Cook, uncovered, for 10-12 minutes or until tender; drain. Stir into tomato sauce. Transfer to a greased 13x9-in. baking dish (dish will be full)., Bake at 350° for 30 minutes. Sprinkle with cheese. Bake 5-10 minutes longer or until cheese is melted.
