CORNFLAKE CHRISTMAS WREATHS

Cornflake Christmas Wreaths image

Cornflakes get dressed for the holidays when mixed with a green marshmallow coating. Shaped into individual wreaths and topped with festive candies, these crunchy treats are a fun no-bake project.

Categories     dessert

Time 1h10m

Yield 24 servings

Number Of Ingredients 8

One 16-ounce package marshmallows
6 tablespoons unsalted butter, cut into pieces
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
Green gel food coloring, for tinting
6 cups cornflakes
Mini round cinnamon candies, for decorating
Red sour candy roll-ups, such as Rip Rolls, or licorice ropes, cut into 5-by-1/4-inch lengths, for decorating
White mini nonpareils, for decorating

Steps:

  • Line 2 baking sheets with parchment. Combine the marshmallows and butter in a large bowl and microwave on 50-percent power in 30-second intervals, stirring in between each, until melted, about 1 minute 30 seconds.
  • Stir in the vanilla and enough food coloring to make the mixture a deep green, 10 to 15 drops. Stir in the cornflakes until they are completely coated.
  • Working with wet hands, form the mixture into twenty-four 2-inch balls. Flatten on the prepared baking sheets and poke a hole in the middle of each with your finger, molding the sides as needed to form a wreath shape. Decorate with the cinnamon candies to create holly berries. Form the red candy strips into a simple bow on each wreath. Sprinkle lightly with the white nonpareils for snow. Let set at room temperature to firm up, about 2 hours, or refrigerate 30 minutes.

CHRISTMAS WREATHS

These Christmas wreaths are made using corn flakes and cinnamon candies. They're fun to make and eat. If the mixture is cooling too quickly, set the pan in a skillet with one inch of very hot water to keep the dough manageable.

Christmas Fudge Wreath - Rachael Ray image

This is a recipe from Rachael Ray's 30 Minute Meals. I know those TV chefs make things look easy but this really is easy. There's no way to mess it up!

Time 10m

  • Cover empty condensed milk can with plastic food wrap and center it in the greased cake pan.
  • Spoon fudge into pan around can, making sure to recenter can if it drifts.
  • The fudge will set up almost immediately.
  • Garnish can only be added in the first minute or 2 the fudge is in the pan, so work quickly.
  • Decorate your wreath with"holly" made from cut candied red and green cherries.

  • Chill covered in the refrigerator and slice fudge very thin when ready to serve, as a little goes a long way.

CANDY CHRISTMAS WREATHS

Candy Christmas Wreaths image

I am the youngest of five kids. So growing up this is what we would give our teachers at Christmas time. This is an inexpensive yummy treat and present. My kids love to make their own and eat them. I could not find the cinnamon red hots this year so I substituted them with red m&ms.

Provided by Leah Stacey

Categories     Candies

Number Of Ingredients 6

1 10.5 oz bag of mini marshmallows
1 1/2 stick butter ( 3/4 cup)
2 tsp vanilla extract
7 c corn flakes
4 tsp green food coloring ( or till you get the shade you want)
small red cinnamon candies or red m&ms

Steps:

  • 1. In a large pot melt the butter, then add the marshmallows, melt those.
  • 2. Stir the butter and marshmallows together. Add the vanilla and food coloring till you get the shade of green you want.
  • 3. Pour in the cornflakes and mix well till it is covered pretty good.
  • 4. Grease your hands with butter. drop onto waxed paper and shape. If the kids are working with you make sure you let it cool just a little bit before they work with it. Just don't wait too long or it will harden. This batch makes two 9 in wreaths or several small ones.
