- Cut apple slices crosswise in half.
- Place in 9-inch square pan; sprinkle with dry cake mix.
- In small bowl, combine sugar & cinnamon; sprinkle over cake mix.

- Bake 30 minutes or until topping is golden brown.
- Serve warm with ice cream, if desired!

- Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F. Place the apple slices in a 9x13 baking dish. Combine the sugar, cinnamon, and cake mix in a bowl and mix until the sugar and cinnamon are distributed throughout the cake mix. Sprinkle the apples evenly with the cake mix mixture. Sprinkle the top of the cake mix evenly with the diced butter. Place the baking dish in the oven and bake at 375 degrees F for 30 minutes or until the apples are tender and the mixture is bubbly. Remove from the oven and let cool slightly then serve while still warm.

- Preheat oven to 375 degrees. In a large bowl, mix together flour, brown sugar, salt, and 2 tablespoons granulated sugar. Cut butter into flour, using a pastry blender or two knives, until mixture is the texture of coarse meal. Add oats, and use your hands to toss and squeeze mixture until large, moist clumps form. Transfer to freezer to chill while you prepare apples.
- In another large bowl, toss apples with lemon juice, cinnamon, and remaining 1/2 cup granulated sugar. Transfer to a shallow 2-quart baking dish, and sprinkle with topping mixture. Place baking dish on a rimmed baking sheet, and bake until golden and bubbling, 55 to 65 minutes. Let cool 10 minutes before serving.
