Steps:
- In large bowl, dissolve yeast in warm water. Stir in flour, granulated sugar and salt. Cut in butter, using pastry blender or crisscrossing 2 knives, until mixture looks like fine crumbs. Separate eggs; refrigerate whites for brushing pastry. Stir yolks and 1 cup milk into flour mixture until soft dough forms. Cover bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate at least 8 hours for proper rising but no longer than 24 hours.
- Lightly grease 2 large cookie sheets. Gently push fist into dough to deflate. Divide dough into 3 equal parts. Roll 1 part dough into 9x7-inch rectangle on lightly floured surface. Cut crosswise into nine 1-inch strips. For each twist, pinch ends of strip together to form ring, stretching strip slightly. Twist to form figure 8. Place at least 2 inches apart on cookie sheet. Repeat with remaining 2 parts dough.
- Beat egg whites; brush over dough. Let rise uncovered at room temperature about 25 minutes or until puffy and loops fill in.
- Heat oven to 350°F. Make an indentation in center of each loop. Fill with 1/2 to 1 teaspoon jam. Brush dough again with egg whites. Bake about 15 minutes or until light golden brown. Remove from cookie sheet to wire rack (place rack on waxed paper to catch glaze drips).
- In small bowl, mix all Powdered Sugar Glaze ingredients until smooth and thin enough to drizzle; drizzle over warm twists.

Steps:
- 1. Combine the first 3 ingredients, cutting in the butter. Sprinkle the water over the mixture; mix until pastry cleans side of bowl;adding a little more Bisquick if needed. Divide into halves. Pat each half into strip, 10x3-inches, on ungreased cookie sheet(keep the strips at least 3 inches apart). Heat 3/4 cup water and 1/4 c. margarine to rolling boil in 3-quart saucepan. Add almond extract and 1 cup baking mix all at once ;Stir vigorously over low heat until mixture forms a ball, about 1 1/2 minutes. Remove from heat. Beat in eggs, one at a time; continue beating until smooth. Heat oven to 350^. Spread half of the dough on each pastry strip. Bake until topping is crisp and golden brown, 45 minutes. Cool slightly; spread with glaze and sprinkle with sliced almonds or pecans. --- Glaze: Mix all ingredients together until smooth and of desired consistency.
- 2. Note: Before spreading the dough over each pastry strip , spread a little jam on then the dough; or a little mixture of softened cream cheese and powdered sugar.; or your favorite prepared pie filling -I like to use cherry pie filling and a little cream cheese mixture.

Steps:
- Heat oven to 350°F. Lightly grease 9-inch glass pie plate with shortening, or spray with CRISCO® Original No-Stick Cooking Spray. Separate dough into 5 rolls; set icing aside. Unroll 1 roll into long strip of dough; reroll loosely and place in center of pie plate. Unroll second roll; loosely wrap around first roll, cinnamon side in. Replace any cinnamon that falls off. Repeat with remaining rolls, coiling dough in pie plate into spiral shape.
- In small bowl, beat remaining ingredients except icing with electric mixer on medium speed until smooth. Spoon cream cheese mixture into decorating bag with tip or gallon-size resealable food-storage plastic bag with 1/2-inch hole cut in bottom corner. With tip or corner of bag about halfway down into rolls, pipe mixture between strips of dough, starting at center and working to edge of pan, using all of mixture.
- Bake 25 to 35 minutes or until center is thoroughly baked and edges are deep golden brown. Cool 5 minutes. Meanwhile, remove cover from icing; microwave on Medium (50%) 10 to 15 seconds or until thin enough to drizzle.
- Drizzle icing over warm coffee cake. Cut into wedges. Serve warm.
