BAVARIAN MINT FUDGE

Butter 1 tbsp
Semisweet chocolate 12 ounces
Milk chocolate 12 ounces
Condensed milk 1 can (14 ounces)
Peppermint extract 1 tsp
Vanilla extract 1 tsp
Butter 1 ½ tsp

Steps:

  • Line an 11x7 inch pan with foil. Grease the foil with 1½ teaspoons of butter and set to one side.
  • Melt chopped chocolate with the tablespoon of butter in a microwave or over a pot of simmering water. Stir until smooth.
  • Add the sweetened condensed milk and peppermint and vanilla extracts and stir until blended.
  • Pour the mint chocolate fudge mixture into the pan and spread evenly.
  • Chill in the refrigerator until the fudge has set.
  • Carefully lift the fudge out of the pan by holding the edges of the foil. Discard the foil and slice the fudge into 1 inch squares.
  • Store in the refrigerator until you are ready to serve. I like to save empty jars throughout the year and I use them to gift this fudge to friends and family.
