BAKED HONEY MUSTARD HAM SANDWICHES



Baked Honey Mustard Ham Sandwiches image

Delicious ham sandwiches on sweet Hawaiian rolls with cheese, honey mustard, and a buttery poppy seed dressing.

1 package (of 12) sweet Hawaiian-style rolls
1 1/2 pounds thick-sliced cooked ham, in small pieces
1 1/2 cups shredded cheese (pictured: cheddar; also delicious: Swiss)
3 tablespoons Dijon mustard
3 tablespoons honey
1 tablespoon mayonnaise
1 tablespoon grated onion
1 1/2 teaspoons poppy seeds
1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
1/2 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
4 tablespoons melted butter

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 350. Line a baking sheet or dish with foil.
  • Slice the rolls in half. Instead of breaking them apart, I just slice them as one big piece and pull them apart after baking.
  • Mix together the mustard, honey, and mayonnaise to make the honey mustard. Spread the honey mustard on both sides of the bread.
  • Layer the bread with the ham and cheese. Put the top half of the bread on top of the ham and cheese and place the whole thing on the prepared baking sheet.
  • For me, the easiest way to make the Buttery Poppy Seed Sauce is to place all of the ingredients in a jar, screw on the lid, and shake until evenly combined.
  • Pour the sauce over the sandwiches.
  • Bake for 12 minutes, or until the cheese is melted.
  • Serve warm.

These small, delicious sandwiches are perfect for any party. They are so good that even the pickiest of eaters will eat these.

¾ cup melted butter
1 ½ tablespoons Dijon mustard
1 ½ teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
1 ½ tablespoons poppy seeds
1 tablespoon dried minced onion
24 mini sandwich rolls
1 pound thinly sliced cooked deli ham
1 pound thinly sliced Swiss cheese

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
  • In a bowl, mix together butter, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, poppy seeds, and dried onion. Separate the tops from bottoms of the rolls, and place the bottom pieces into the prepared baking dish. Layer about half the ham onto the rolls. Arrange the Swiss cheese over the ham, and top with remaining ham slices in a layer. Place the tops of the rolls onto the sandwiches. Pour the mustard mixture evenly over the rolls.
  • Bake in the preheated oven until the rolls are lightly browned and the cheese has melted, about 20 minutes. Slice into individual rolls through the ham and cheese layers to serve.

8 ounces thinly sliced deli ham
6 slices Swiss cheese (3/4 ounce each), cut in half
1 package (12 ounces) Hawaiian sweet rolls, split
1/2 cup spreadable chive and onion cream cheese
1/4 cup butter, melted
4 teaspoons Dijon mustard
3 teaspoons dried minced onion
1-1/2 teaspoons poppy seeds
1/2 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce

Steps:

  • Place ham and cheese on each roll bottom. Spread cream cheese over tops. Replace tops. Arrange in a single layer in a greased 13-in. x 9-in. baking pan., In a small bowl, combine the remaining ingredients; brush over rolls. Cover with foil. Refrigerate for several hours or overnight., Bake, covered, at 350° for 20-23 minutes or until heated through.

1 (12 ounce) can pillsbury big country refrigerated buttermilk biscuits (the layer type doesn't work as well)
1 tablespoon stone ground mustard
2 tablespoons chopped green onions
1/4 cup butter, softened
20 slices deli-sliced cooked ham
3 tablespoons stone ground mustard
2 tablespoons mayonnaise
2 tablespoons honey

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 400°F.
  • Cut each biscuit in half crosswise (to make 2 half-moon shapes); place on ungreased cookie sheet.
  • With back of teaspoon, spread 1 tablespoon mustard evenly over tops of biscuits.
  • Bake for 10 to 14 minutes or until golden brown.
  • Place on wire rack to cool.
  • Meanwhile, in a small bowl, combine onions and butter, mix well.
  • Split each cooled biscuit; spread both halves with about 1/4 teaspoon butter mixture.
  • Roll ham slices loosely and place on bottom biscuit halves; cover with top halves to make sandwiches.
  • In another bowl, combine dipping sauce ingredients; blend well.
  • Transfer to small serving dish.
  • Serve the sandwiches arranged around the dipping sauce on a platter for serving.
