Steps:
- Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the celery seeds and let cook for 1 to 2 minutes to bloom. Add the carrots and cook for 2 to 3 minutes. Add the cabbage, then season with salt and pepper and continue to cook until the cabbage is wilted but still has a little bite to it, about 5 minutes.
- Place the onion in a medium bowl. Add the honey, sambal and vinegar. Mix together to coat and let sit for 5 minutes. Add the onion mixture to the skillet and mix in. Transfer to a serving bowl.

- Lightly toss red cabbage, mandarin orange segments, green onion, and cranberries together in a salad bowl.
- Toast pine nuts in a small skillet over medium heat, stirring constantly, until fragrant and lightly browned, about 2 minutes. Remove immediately to a bowl and let cool.
- Whisk canola oil, vinegar, sugar, and salt in a bowl until sugar and salt have dissolved.
- Stir toasted pine nuts into salad and pour dressing over the top. Toss again to coat salad with dressing.

CABBAGE AND APPLE SALAD
Wonderful for a BBQ! The veggies may be cut and the dressing made one day in advance, refrigerate the veggies in a sealed plastic bag. Cover and refrigerate the dressing. ALL ingredients may be adjusted to suit taste. Remember to add in the chopped apples just before serving, although the recipe states 2 apples, add in as much as you like! Prep time includes marinating time.... This salad is awesome!
