GREEN BEANS WITH TOASTED ALMONDS

Steps:
- Cook green beans 5 minutes in 1-inch boiling water, covered. Drain beans and return pan to heat.
- Add oil and butter pat to the pan. Toss beans in oil and melted butter. Season beans with a little salt and transfer to a serving plate.
- Garnish green beans with toasted slivered or sliced almonds.

This is one of those dishes that tradition has snatched. Most everyone has a green bean dish on the menu for the holidays. The almonds are a nice detour from the usual ingredients.

Steps:
- Remove both ends of beans, break in half, and wash thoroughly.
- Place in a large pot and add water 3 to 4 inches from the top. Add bacon and cook until tender.
- Remove bacon from cooking water and discard. Remove beans and place in a large bowl, add almonds and toss. Serve Hot.

- Simmer beans in water until just tender, about 30 minutes. drain in arab countries i have read that they like their beans well done , cook them to your taste
- Place, oil, garlic, cumin, paprika, and cloves in a saucepan.
- Cook for a couple of minutes, stirring constantly.
- Add almonds to coat.
- Pour oil mixture over green beans.
- Toss gently until beans are coated.

Steps:
- Simmer trimmed green beans in salted water for approximately 30-45 minutes until tender. Drain and place in a dish. Place the rest of the ingredients (excluding the almonds) in a pan and cook at a medium heat for 2 minutes while stirring. Next, add the almonds, stirring briefly to coat them. Pour contents of pan over green beans and ensure they are well coated. Serve warm.

- Bring a large pot of water to a rolling boil. Add the green beans, and cook until bright green but still firm, about 2 minutes. Use a colander to drain the green beans, then quickly transfer them to bowl filled with ice and water to stop the cooking process. Drain again and pat dry with a paper towel.
- Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the garlic and cook until fragrant but not golden, about 1 minute.
- Add the green green beans, salt and pepper to the skillet with the garlic and cook until the green beans become fork tender but still crisp, about 3-4 minutes.
